A lovely town, with lots of history, interesting architecture, and good transport connections. A busy harbour with frequent ferries to the islands, and trains to Leeuwarden, Groningen and beyond. Good bicycle rental shops, and easy access to the coast. The museum is really intersting and gives a good sense of the city's history, and the old sailing ships in the harbour are beautiful.

A very pretty fishing village with many 'typically Dutch' touches: local shops, gabled houses, scrupulously clean, good coffee, friendly people and many bars, restaurants, coffee shops and "coffee shops".
Lovely place to spend a few days.

Harlingen is a very accessible charming city with an inner core, lots of nice shops and outdoor eating places, as well as a good museum and bookshop. We enjoyed the time we had exploring and discovering this place which is definitely more than just a departure point to the islands.

Harlingen is a nice city , with a lot of canals and boats.
Harlingen is a nice city , with a lot of canals and boats. The houses are beautiful and mostly old. The city center has nice shops and restaurants. You can walk around or hire a bike. Beach near by and ferry to the islands (wadden).
Great city to stay one or a couple of days.
Two things in particular - we were shown to a ground floor room! We had previously been in a hotel that required us climbing to the third floor and in a home exchange requiring us to climb to the 5th floor! We knew that going in but were quite delighted not to have to climb stairs this time. The other was the breakfast served. Often European breakfasts consist of bread, cheese and sandwich meat, but this hotel also provided scrambled eggs, slices of baked ham, a good fruit spread and even smoked salmon. Definitely exceptional good value!
Very special location. We had the boat for us and there was always something to see. The owner was very friendly and gave as u good introduction to the boat. The kids loved the boat it was a very special "playground-stay". It was very clean and was absolutly well maintained. We had all we need for our stay. Harlingen is worth a stay!

Very good hotel in an excellent location in Harlingen, scenic and close to the centre, but still very quiet. There is a great restaurant / breakfast room and bar downstairs. My room was very comfortable. I particularly liked the coffee machine provided, the coffee was delicious.
Anja the host was really helpful even before we arrived in Harlingen. It was easy to find and access the place and the studio itself was very spacious and nicely decorated. Definitely big enough for 6 people. The breakfast was great too. Would definitely recommend this place.
After arriving in Harlingen close to midnight after a day of travelling by plane, train and bus it was so nice to open te door to such a cozy hotel! The room was great. The beds were comfy and the shower was great as well. The friendly and helpfull staff were a huge plus!
Really cosy and comfortable for a one night stay, very pleased with the room and pleasantly surprised with the size of the bathroom. Very clean and easy communication with the Hotel. Very close to the ferry docks to get to Terschelling.
The location is great, so is the garden: amazing!
What a rest and quiet though at the back of the shopping.
To make it an absolute 10, the hotel would only have to add a sofa and nicer chairs to give an even better atmosphere!
Thanks.
I was extremely Ill with food poisoning and had to get a hotel room quickly to rest. The staff went out of their way to prepare to room early in the morning even though I just arrived. The staff was so nice considering how bad I felt.
Great setting on the canal in the oldest hotel in the city. Normally that would concern me but it was charming and retrofitted inside with all the modern conveniences and comforts one could ask for. Top shelf and memorable!
Breakfast was terrific, fresh and a large variety served in the main restaurant. Staff overall was great and very helpful. Street parking was available in front of the hotel.

Brenda, the manager of the apartments, was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The location was very central, right on a canal of this cute little town of Harlingen.
