VISTALEGRE Hotel-Spa, hotel in Portomarin

Featuring a terrace, bar and views of city, VISTALEGRE Hotel-Spa is located in Portomarin, 26 km from Congress and Exhibiton Center.

The property is very modern. It is well-run and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. The breakfast offering was plentiful with lots of choices, including cereals, which has been lacking at other, higher star-rated hotels. The location is perfect for the weary traveller. I was given a very warm welcome, which always goes a long way after a hard day’s walking. The staff were very efficient and very patient.

SLEEPING PORTOMARIN 2, hotel in Portomarin

SLEEPING PORTOMARIN 2 in Portomarin provides accommodation with free WiFi, 27 km from Congress and Exhibiton Center, 27 km from Lugo Cathedral and 27 km from Roman Walls of Lugo.

Sleeping Portomarin 2 was very comfortable, and a great place to rest on the Camino. It is very close to the Camino path, so not too much extra walking. Additionally, the hostess had included snacks, waters, coffee, and other goodies. It also has a washer and lines outside to dry. It even has a massage chair, which is great for a weary Pilgrim!!! Portomarin was also one of the prettiest stops on the Camino, so it was wonderful to stay in that town.

Portomarin is right on the water, and on the Camino. It is a beautiful town with plenty of restaurants and shops; very cute, a beautiful cathedral in the piazza, and very friendly people! It was one of the most scenic towns on the Camino.

A small town on the Camino de Santiago - and anyone who’s walked The Way will know what that implies. Much of the economy of places like this, especially in catering and accommodation, is geared to servicing Camino pilgrims. Consequently there are albergues and pilgrim menus (pilgrim menu norm seems to be around €14 at present, still fair value) aplenty but by 10 p.m., and outside the Camino “walking season”, lots of places are closed. So, not perhaps the ideal place for nightclubbers. Having said that we enjoyed our stay, it’s a pretty place with great views but not a great deal of history on show - the original village having been swallowed up by the creation of a dam lake. The church was rescued and moved up the hill to its present location in the town centre brick by brick. It’s interesting to be able to just see the numbers painted on the masonry that ensured every block went in the right place. One heck of a jigsaw!

Portomarin is a very beautiful tiny little town right on the Camino de Santiago. It has a few beautiful churches and the town itself is on the banks of a river which makes it very picturesque. It is quiet and small, except for the pilgrims and that makes it very quaint.

    Friendly staff provided excellent communication.

Friendly staff provided excellent communication. Could speak perfect English, which is rare in the in this area. Facilities, while basic, was perfect and spotless. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. Bed was so comfortable. Bag collection service operates from here also, which was a bonus. There is a lovely bar/restaurant literally yard away that had very reasonable menu. Price was very reasonable.I was very pleased with my choice.

I purposefully booked a private room off of the main Camino path to get some quiet to recharge. The directions were challenging and this is part of a newer section of buildings being constructed. It was on the outskirts of Portomarin. It is located away from the downtown/restaurants/Camino. The room was large, simple and clean. Its nice that there are snacks provided (fruit, water, juice and cookies) and coffee packets. There is a microwave available but bring your own cup for the coffee as the only ones provided were plastic.

7 Stars it is just off the end of the track , the staff member went over and beyond to help us with taxi and information. She was a Godsend , the room was warm , inviting, and everything you need when you have just completed 25km. Fantastic kitchen facilities etc which was unexpected. Wish all hotels on the track were as Brilliant as this one. Regards Australia

The place was very spacious, would be perfect for a family traveling. I booked it alone, as there were no other pet-friendly accommodations available in Portomarin and was pleasantly surprised by the convenient location, easy access to get in, and yard to relax in with my dog after a long day on the camino.

There are not enough good things to say about the you g woman who owns these apartments. I was tired and lost when I arrived in Portomarin and she came and found me and took me to the apartment. The apartment was wonderful but even better was the kindness and patience shown by this person.

The staff is very very kind and helpful. As everyone says, they have pick up and drop service from Portomarin and they noticed it very clearly. There is a restaurant on the 1st floor and the foods and service is quite good. The restaurant has an English menu which is not as usual.

The hotel is very well located. Just 50m away from the Cathedral which is centre of the city. Apartement is big with 2 bed rooms and can accomodate 4 - 5 people. It has fully equipped kitchen and dining room as well as living room. I wish I stayed longer.

It was a bit of a challenge to get to Portomarin. Be sure to read the guidebook BEFORE you choose one of the THREE ways. Our path took us to the gorge!!! Wicked! And then the many steep steps to get to town. We loved the hotel and the GREAT breakfast.
