Harlingen is a very accessible charming city with an inner core, lots of nice shops and outdoor eating places, as well as a good museum and bookshop. We enjoyed the time we had exploring and discovering this place which is definitely more than just a departure point to the islands.

Harlingen is a delightful place and a great choice from which to visit other places, if that is what you wish. The port is well worth a visit and observed from the Eetcafe by the ferry terminal as it is quite busy with all sorts of shipping passing by. Not far away is the main industrial port and the entrance to the canal system.
The town itself has many interesting features apart from the many canals. If you like walking then there is much to see. A carillon is heard every half an hour and is situated in the bell tower attached to the Town Hall (Stadhuis). There is also a museum and many interesting shops. The place is very tidy and a delight to visit.

This is a port town (City in Friesland speak) which is overflowing with character. The architecture, canal system port area and general vibe are perfect. Lots of places to eat, drink and relax. Lots to do in a relatively small space. Very relaxing
THE BREAKFAST WAS TRUELY AMAZING. one of the best breakfasts that I have eaten in Nederland; 8 types of cold meats, smoked salmon and the chance to fry your own fried eggs, good coffee. 10 out of 10. Also really friendly and helpful family that run the hotel. If I visit Harlingen again I know where I would stay. Really comfortable room with all one could wish for. bath, toiletries, air cooler, coffee and tea, fridge etc.
Very special location. We had the boat for us and there was always something to see. The owner was very friendly and gave as u good introduction to the boat. The kids loved the boat it was a very special "playground-stay". It was very clean and was absolutly well maintained. We had all we need for our stay. Harlingen is worth a stay!
Harlingen is a beautiful old seaport, the hotel is lovely and old the interior and ambiance is stunning, Chris and Kees were welcoming and professional. Kees happily helped me with my luggage up and down two high ceilinged flights. Breakfast and dinner were well above my expectations! I favorited Centraal Hotel on my Google Maps.

This B&B is located in one of the many alleys of Harlingen. A full breakfast accompanied by an amazing view from the breakfast room. The host was really friendly and helpful. The room is well equipped and neat. The bathroom was modern and clean. It's a perfect spot to discover Harlingen.
Anja the host was really helpful even before we arrived in Harlingen. It was easy to find and access the place and the studio itself was very spacious and nicely decorated. Definitely big enough for 6 people. The breakfast was great too. Would definitely recommend this place.
After arriving in Harlingen close to midnight after a day of travelling by plane, train and bus it was so nice to open te door to such a cozy hotel! The room was great. The beds were comfy and the shower was great as well. The friendly and helpfull staff were a huge plus!
Really cosy and comfortable for a one night stay, very pleased with the room and pleasantly surprised with the size of the bathroom. Very clean and easy communication with the Hotel. Very close to the ferry docks to get to Terschelling.
I was extremely Ill with food poisoning and had to get a hotel room quickly to rest. The staff went out of their way to prepare to room early in the morning even though I just arrived. The staff was so nice considering how bad I felt.
Great setting on the canal in the oldest hotel in the city. Normally that would concern me but it was charming and retrofitted inside with all the modern conveniences and comforts one could ask for. Top shelf and memorable!
Breakfast was terrific, fresh and a large variety served in the main restaurant. Staff overall was great and very helpful. Street parking was available in front of the hotel.
Brenda, the manager of the apartments, was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The location was very central, right on a canal of this cute little town of Harlingen.
