Situated on the northern edge of Vancouver Island, this Port Hardy property provides free Wi-Fi. The Port Hardy ferry terminal is 15 minutes’ drive away. The manager was very kind to give me a ride to the ferry and let me check out late. Also the indian restaurant was very good !

Stephen’s Inn is for sure one of the most special places you could visit on Vancouver island: the view right out on to the water, having some sea lions say hello every now and then, watching the full moon rise over the hills… it’s such a magical view, that you can get both out of the super comfy bed and out of the bathing tub, that’s big enough for two. Stephen is a chef, creating breakfast that’s better than any food we tried on the island- with lots of nice seafood fresh out of the ocean. One day we took the kayaks that are free to use, travelled down the coast and watched the orcas blow their water fountains from a far. The detail and care Michelle and Stephen put in hosting their guests made us feel warmly welcomed, making it really hard to finally pack our bags and leave. We will for sure come back!
