Karrawa Guest House is set in the town of Kirkwall, less than 1 mile from the town centre and within 2.5 miles of the airport and ferry terminal. Karrawa is a lovely home with a very comfortable guest room and an exquisitely appointed en-suite. Everything was so clean and Fyona was quite friendly snd welcoming. Our cooked breakfast was delicious. I wish we had been able to spend more time there.

The food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable. There was a lounge with games, sofas, and a large TV, but we were too busy to take advantage of it. Eric, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. He got us everything we asked for. The water was very soft, so only a small amount of soap or shampoo was needed. It didn't feel like we were intruding in someone's home. It felt more like a mini hotel with a fair amount of privacy for coming and going. Also, we had a ground floor room where we didn't have to drag suitcases up, which is hard being older adults. The stay was very enjoyable.

Free Wi-fi, big TV + Netflix etc, laundry facilities and good firm mattresses. 2 good-sized bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Parking outside the front door. Great position for exploring Orkney.

Sarah was an absolute life saver! She helped us find a rental car when none were available at the airport. On top of that, the place is fantastic. Great location, lovely home, hot tub is a delight.

The location is close to the town centre and amenities, but more importantly the Stable itself was perfect for our family visit. Everything was clean, comfortable and well stocked, especially as we cooked a few of our meals. The hosts were great communicators and super friendly. Highly recommend and will be sure to book again if back in Kirkwall.

The apartment was decorated very well and comfortable. Very clean and private. Parking provided directly beside. Well furnished and updated kitchen. Everything we needed! Pretty place.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Shorelands B&B is situated in Kirkwall, 2.7 km from Scapa Beach and 17 km from Maeshowe. Nick offered a peasant experience in every way: shuttle to and from the late ferry, tasty breakfasts, a comfortable quiet room, lovely chats. He even let us use the charming guest area to give us a place to be/keep our luggage in the long wait between check out and ferry. So lovely to be regaled on the last day by Nicky's wife and son. Ba' is life! Our only regret was that we had booked tours before knowing that he offers guiding services!
