Featuring a lap pool and free WiFi, Oryx Airport Hotel offers accommodation at Hamad International Airport, Doha. After reading some of the reviews, I was having second thoughts about booking this hotel, but we were happy with everything. We arrived tired and late from a flight from Germany and were greeted politely and in a very friendly manner by Krishna at the reception. What a charming man! He graciously gave us a late check out for 5pm the next day, which greatly helped us relax for our late flight to Melbourne. The room was spacious, comfortable and luxurious, with wonderful large beds, incredible shower and even Rituals products (our favourite!). We loved the supplied kettle and tea (we basically are so spoilt that we cannot start the day without 2 cups of tea!). The fitness studio is limited to 6 guests per day and needs to be booked, as does the pool. I have travelled extensively during the pandemic and many hotels (in Europe, mainly) say that the gym/spa is 'close because of the Covid', when they are simply too lazy to operate a simple system whereby people travelling together (in a room) are able to book the room for a specific time. The Oryx, however, has good hygiene measures, enabling the facilities to run as normal. The pool is wonderfully warm and tastefully constructed, as was the gym equipment. All in all, a great transit hotel, which is quite expensive but worth it. We would have spent our long transit time in Doha but really couldn't be bothered with the extra hassle of getting a taxi, covid tests and checking in again. All the staff we encountered at the Vitality Centre were so friendly and charming. Will definitely stay there again!

Located airside North Node. Inside the Doha Hamad International Airport transit and duty free area, the sleep 'n fly Sleep Lounge - Doha North Node (Transit Area) is inspired by modern design for... The solo room is like an expanding suite of a normal business class seat on the plan (and more privacy of course). I’m 168cm tall so the bed size fit me perfectly, still left more space for me to toss and turn. It was very comfortable, i slept like a baby and almost forgot to wake up until the staff knocked on the door 😂 but for someone who is taller than 175cm, the bed would be quite short therefore not so comfortable (it could be put in a chair mode so you still have room to lie down). I paid $20 extra for a shower and the shower was brilliant! Very clean and spacious and had everything a girl need. This is by far my most worthy purchase in my whole life of travelling. If you have a 12hr+ transit like me you should definitely give this place a chance. If your plane landed at the different side of the airport, you can take the train to north side and find the lounge on the map.
