Hotell Gamla Fängelset is a converted prison from 1861 located in central Umeå and offers free WiFi and breakfast. All rooms have windows and shared bathroom facilities. very clean. Very comfortable and close to city I walked everywhere. Easy check-in adn checkout.

Set in a former medical officer’s villa, this central Umeå hotel is 100 metres from the Ume River. Sauna, relaxation area and WiFi access are free, as is a light evening buffet. Good location, good staff. We had barking dog in other room, so after mentioning this at reception we got a free change to an upgraded room type. Thank you!

What a gem! A fantastic historical building in a prime location. The staff were excellent throughout the stay. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
