Mark was so responsive on WhatsApp and helpful to get everything arranged. He even has a go-to taxi driver who is inexpensive and so helpful. The place itself is more or less minimal but has everything you need if you need to be right by the airport for a flight. I initially also was nervous about the area as it seemed on Google maps to be very empty and not have anything nearby. However, a small village has started around it and I felt very safe. Also there is a police station next door. Lastly, Mark has so many doors with 2-3 locks that make you feel very secure.

Peaceful oasis close to the Dakar international airport. In a rural area 15 minutes walk from a small fishing village/beach. The owner is amazing and picked me up at the airport around 3 am because of a delayed flight. The room was basically a self contained apartment which was very comfortable. Breakfast was self ordered, made by the owner and delivered to the room terrace at an agreed time. The owner also gave me a great local tour of the beach and village before returning to the airport at 1 pm for my onward flight.

Wonderful hosts, Mariam was a great cook as well. I loved sharing breakfast and dinner at Ker Lep Jamm. Not too far from the beach and the neighbors were very friendly! They were so kind to organize a taxi for me from the airport and booking was simple and easy. Truly was an authentic experience here. I would return again!

Begue Pokai is set in Kelle, 5 minutes walk from the beach and 45 km from Dakar. Begue Pokai features free WiFi throughout the property. A local breakfast is provided at Begue Pokai. Friendly helpful staff, clean pool and nice rooms. Good breakfast with mango and bissap jams for 2000 cfa extra. The beach is a 5 minutes walk away. Maybe a bit hard to find in the small streets, but it is exactly where booking and maps say it is.

The owner, Jean, is a great guy and I loved having a chat with him. I arrived past midnight from the airport and he arranged a taxi for me and waited for my arrival. He is a great guy to talk with, very intelligent and his residence is an excellent place to spend a few night!
