Staying at Lightship was a fantastic end to our European Holiday. It was a such a fabulous and unique experience . The hosts were exceptionally hospitable and communicated very well with us even though we were arriving late in the evening, the check in process was made very easy . Natalie was an amazing host , she made us a delicious breakfast and coffee each day. The location was not far from central station by a small 10 min walk to the ferry and quick free ferry ride to central station that runs 24/7 every 5 minutes. The area was in a residential part of Amsterdam North with plenty of restaurant located nearby. We even swam in the canal , as there were locals swimming. The room was very big and I loved having a bath (very rare in Amsterdam hotels) . There was a minibar stocked daily. We have stayed many times in Amsterdam , but this was exceptional . I is just a great place to hang out to get away from the hustle of Amsterdam. We sat on the deck after a busy day , and we felt at home. It was a relaxing stay and I highly recommend.

You get to have your own separate apartment so to say, the old Captains area. Upon entry you find the cozy living area with couch, two chairs and a vintage record player. Downstairs is the kitchen with fridge, dishwasher and enough utensils etc. Friendly little details provided by the hosts give it a very personal feel. the bedroom is a comfy bed for two and the window just above water level as well as the skylight with option cover makes for the true ship feeling. In the summer there is a small balcony with hammock upstairs. And the view of the harbor is very calming for us at least. The bathroom has a nice modern shower, the floor is such that it can be dried easily with the sweeper..All products were provided.

firstly, the space is beautiful and the location is perfect if you need a break from the crowds. so nice to have your own area to make some food. I recommend you hit the Jumbo grocery store before you arrive or take a nice walk to get refreshments.

A very special stay on the boat, the hosts really make sure that you have a nice stay in Amsterdam. Coffee, tea and even some snacks are provided, the hosts were really friendly and gave us good advice on where to eat/what to do etc. The boat Suite itself is spacious, comfortable and clean, overall a great experience!

Waking up in the morning and having coffee on the canal, immersed in nature is a wonderful feeling. The place is really beautiful. It can be reached on foot in 15 minutes from the bus stop through a park that is pleasant to walk through and regenerating. Alternatively by car/taxi/bicycle directly in front of the houseboat. Vera and her husband were very helpful and gave us good advice. A fantastic experience.

The little touches like local beers in the fridge or umbrellas to borrow were great extras. The houseboat is easily reachable from the city centre by bus or tram, but also not that far to walk. The houseboat was so clean, comfortable and perfect for a couple of nights. We loved being on the water and feeling like we got a real Amsterdam experience.
