The property is in a gorgeous location overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. Lots of options for hiking and sightseeing nearby. Cozy and comfortable cabin had everything we needed. I’m so glad that we booked 2 nights - you’ll regret leaving after just one night. We didn’t see the lake monster, but did have beautiful aurora borealis shows both nights. This was our favorite place to stay on our whole trip around Iceland.

Really beautiful property in a very nice, remote location. Super clean, nice kitchen, comfortable beds. Everything you are looking for after an exhausting day. And very spacious!!

Set in Sleðbrjótur in the East Iceland region, Fishing Lodge Hálsakot offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a sauna. We spent a wonderful night there. However, you have to drive on a gravel road for 30 mins. But it is worth to do that.
