I loved the hidden beach behind the town.
I loved the hidden beach behind the town. Its a drive away from the 12 apostles, waterfalls etc, but its still a great place to stay and look around for a bit. It was super calm and quiet but there were also streets full of people and cafees.

The beach walk is excellent and you can watch, or join in with, the surfers. There is also a very nice golf course near the marina.
If you want yo bbq there are plenty of places to just set up and go with the bbq’s ready to go.
The shops are good and the restaurants are very nice.
The town is also home to the Southern most pub in Sustralia, where you can get a very nice meal.

Went in mid Feb and it wasn’t too busy which was great. Can get cold and windy so bring some warm clothes! Lovely beach and relaxed town. Chris’s Restaurant was fantastic as a fine dining option and just a short drive away.

The location is good and close to the beach.
The location is good and close to the beach. However, the facilities lack maintenance and rooms have broken furnitures ( pictures annexed) our toilet had a large spider net in the window (inside).
Nobody showed up despite through booking email confirmation.
Not worth it. Happy to provide more details.

Beautiful beaches - be sure to walk along Marengo beach.
Beautiful beaches - be sure to walk along Marengo beach. Day trippers make lunchtime busy in town. Great fish & chips, oysters, scallops & crayfish at harbour (10% surcharge on weekends!). Good fresh fish and yummy seafood starters at fish shop. Good Italian.

Added extra day before Public Holiday (aust day) for extra day travel time.
Beach and Rain forest surprises. Good restaurants (Casalinga) for dine in or pizza. (Georges also did good pizza) Bakery gets busy esp Sundays - I know bc we went every day for 3 days. Took picnic rolls from there to Redwoods. Fishermans Co-op was too busy, but good place to walk around AB Harbour. AB Hotel (near bakery) ok meal, helpful staff, free music great Saturday night. Very casual in AB. Great views from Marriners Look out, easy walk for everyone- except dogs. Did not realize there were so many walks (NOT Hikes) possible if not much beach weather. We will come back to complete those walks & views we did not get to.
Location was perfect within the small town area of Apollo Bay - just across the beach and ocean, and 3-5mins walk to the stretch of shops and supermarket.
Room was quiet despite the motel being right next to the Great Ocean Road.
Room was surprisingly spacious for a family loft - one queen bed below and three singles on top. Though the room was quite simple, we had everything we needed for a one night stay, eg a sofa and dining table, cutlery and dishes and appliances in the kitchenette.
For the price, it was a very good option.
Location is about eight kilometres from Apollo Bay and the views are outstanding. From an elevated position, 180 degree views of the coast and ocean. Being a bit remote it was quiet although if you want to hear the ocean more clearly just open the balcony door. Rather than eat in town, on both nights of our stay we decided to bring food and wine in and enjoy the afternoon and evening views. Staff very helpful and responded quickly when an issue was raised. Washing machine helpful for a mid-trip wash!
We got an ocean-facing room and managed to catch a spectacular sunrise over the ocean. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Cutlery and utensils were provided so you can grab a takeaway from the nearby Apollo Bay Fisherman's Co-op and eat in the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Paintings and art in the motel were beautiful and added an artistic touch.
The location was amazing overlooking Apollo bay and ocean. We had a koala in the trees just outside our balcony. We had the best nights sleep also. The restaurant is amazing with wonderful views through wall to wall glass. We ate in the restaurant and the food was gorgeous - lovely fresh seafood and veggie options too. Truly a gem and would have loved to have stayed longer
We were really satisfied with our stay at the Sandpiper Motel. The location was walking distance from the beach, all restaurants and shops. Check-in and check-out were all very easy, staff were friendly and communicative. The room was comfortable and provided all the facilities we needed for a short stay. Would confidently recommend to anyone staying in Apollo Bay.
The motel was located close to the centre and the beach of Apollo Bay with free on site parking. Our ground floor room had plenty of space and was clean and well-maintained. There was a small kitchenette area and utensils - enough for a light breakfast. The common laundrette was free to use.
By far the best place we’ve stayed in Australia. We were really sad we made other plans and could only stay for 1 night. Apollo Bay is a wonderful place and Bed of Roses is the best place to spend the night. It’s clean, it’s cozy and we felt at home the minute we walked in.
Located in Marengo, 4-5 mins drive to Apollo Bay.
Near Marengo Waterfront.
House is newer than the photos in booking.com (maybe owner must repost the better photo). Because honestly i almost cancel my booking because i think the house is so old.
Room was clean and equipped with all you need. We had ocean sound at night. Parking infront of the house possible.
Just note that it is a longer walk (20 min +) to the Center of Apollo Bay with the restaurants and Bars, but therefore quiet.
We were impressed by the quality of linen and towels. The couple running the motel were super kind and helpful. Location is perfect. Right across from the park/ beach and close to restaurants but still quiet. Don’t miss the sunsets!
Breakfast was amazing! Such a good deal when coupled with the motel room. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Check-in and check-out was easy and contactless.
Great location within walking distance to cafes, shops and beach. Spacious rooms, parking at door, quiet at night, close to a hotel for dinner and drinks.
