Lovely mountain cabin that was clean and comfortable. Large kitchen and dining space along with lounge area heated by wood stove.
Each bedroom had comfortable bed and warm linens with wall heater and heated mattress pad.
Large wardrobe as well.
Wonderful big bathroom with great hot water and ceiling heating.
Lots of wood provided for wood stove.
Easy walk across street to Cradle Mountain Visitor Center.
We also walked to Devils @Cradle to see and learn about Tasmanian Devils.
Bring your groceries to cook in the lovely kitchen and in nice weather there is a back porch.
The area is beautiful and very quiet and private.
Lovely check in staff and you can purchase beer and wine at reception.
We loved our stay in the Currawong cabin.

Sean was a great host. The cabin was lovely and remote, but close to Cradle Mountain National Park and not too far from civilization.
The cabin was set up with practically everything we could have needed. Hot & cold breakfast items, and a whole lot of extra treats we did not expect but were stoked to receive.
Sean supplies Tassie products as much as he can, which is a bonus.
It was a great base from which to explore Cradle Mountain and the north west coast of Tassie.
Thanks Sean!
PS: Did I mention the pademelons? We were able to see a number of them, including our very own afternoon visitor.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

A wonderful place!
A wonderful place! Well worth visiting for its natural beauty, walks and wildlife. Also very well organised with shuttle around the park and to major walking tracks. Definitely worth visiting ng Waldheim for the history of the place

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Shuttle buses run frequently to the shores of Dove Lake, making it a must-see mountain resort in Tasmania for easy day-hiking. It's also great to be able to see wombats up close around Ronny Creek. If you have a national park pass, you can buy a shuttle bus ticket valid for 72 hours for $15, so we recommend staying near the visitors centre for 3 to 4 nights.

A lot of walks have well maintained paths so most people can use them.
The scenery is fantastic but beware, be prepared, the weather can be very good one minute and cold and wet the next.
Pay for the shuttle bus, it makes life easier.

Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart.
Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart. Don't go the Queenstown route - it takes forever. Go via Launceston. The National Park is gorgeous. Use the boardwalk to hike up to the Creek. It's quiet and right there in the middle of the bush. We saw wallabies, birds and snakes. We hiked up to the Boat House and then used the shuttle bus back to the bus stop by our hotel. The shuttles are every 5-10 minutes. The rangers are great.

Check-in process seemless. Reception Staff were friendly, gave excellent service and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The fact that there was quite a well stocked area with a range of grocery items, including dairy and frozen goods, was a bonus for our travelling group.
The cabins were equipped with a very efficient heating system, which had been turned on prior to our arrival, to warm the rooms up.
Cradle Mountain Hotel was an exceptional hotel with amazing rooms, we were upgraded from a standard queen room to a king size room which was an amazing gesture. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was superb - highly recommend. Apparently, it is a 'sister' hotel to The Village in Strahan where we had stayed the previous couple of nights, so they must have rung through and advised we were coming and provided the upgrade.
Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
There is so much to like about Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge, it's hard to know where to start.
Facilities are amazing, food out of this world, staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and of course the location is exceptional.
Spend some time in the day spa for a very relaxing afternoon to cap your visit off.
In short an incredible stay, it's a little pricey but worth it
Location was excellent - close to the Cradle Mountain National Park and Devils @ Cradle. The restaurant staff was very responsive and helpful, especially with recommending dishes for my son who has a peanut allergy. Hotel common lounge areas are cosy with fireplaces. Check-in was easy. The room had a nice bush view.
Cosy cottage with kitchen and everything you need. Lots of wildlife to.see right at your front door. Only 5 minutes walk to the visitor center where you can catch the shuttle bus to all the great hikes/climbs/walks. Will definitely stay here again when returning to Cradle Mountain.
This place located within easy reach of Cradle Mountain. The room itself was sizable, with a gas 'log' fireplace within the room. The balcony looking out to the grass and pond was lovely. We caught sight of wallabies and possums from our balcony.
Location of the Discovery Park, is its greatest advantage. Its quiet, peaceful and walking distance to cradle mountain visitor centre. Getting in and out of the lodge is vey easy. Cabins are big enough to host a family.
We have stayed here several times and will return on future visits to Cradle Mountain. The cabins have everything you need - perfect for self catering if you don't take advantage of the great restaurant on site.
Had a lovely night in one of the cabins. The cabins are perfect and very comfortable. The location is also great as right across the road from visitor centre. Staff are also lovely and helpful.
Comfortable, roomy cabins opposite the National Park visitor centre. perfect spot to base yourself for a visit to Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. Plenty of firewood provided for the fireplace.
Spa bath at the end of walking; peacefullness of the cabins; very close to Cradle Mountain and right on top of some of the shorter walks. The Highland Terrace restaurant is excellent.
The restaurant was closed while we were there due to unfortunate shortage of staff, so for food we had to go to Cradle Mountain Lodge which was open everyday.
We ate at the restaurant at Cradle mountain wilderness resort one night for dinner and Peppers the second night. Food was good. Prices were a little high.
