Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word!
Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word! Both when dry, as well as when flooded.
Uyuni town very ugly, avoid it is possible, full of dirty roads and dirt in the air, if you are sensitive or allergic, do not go downtown and stay in one of the 3 nicests salt hotels in the Salar outside town.
Best restaurant in town is Tika, in the hotel Jardin of Uyuni (nice hotel too)

No matter what season (dry or wet)you go to Uyuni, you will see amazing views. But I recommend dry season since you will have chance to see both wet area and “beautiful” dry area. And for the starlight tour, you’ll see beautiful stars without clouds!

Uyuni came at the end of our San Pedro de Atacama - Uyuni...
Uyuni came at the end of our San Pedro de Atacama - Uyuni private tour (3 days-2 nights) that was exceptional, so not much left to see around the small city except the people and plazas, although the small museum on the army base was very interesting and informative, as recommended by Chris. We stayed three nights and found the hotel clean and very well located to walk around.
The restaurant, and more specifically Chris, was outstanding catering breakfast on a jazzy note and offering delicious pizzas by evening.
Our room didn't have natural light nor a view, nor a closet, hooks nor hangers which made things a little complicated in our case, since we had some heavy luggage. Everybody at the hotel was most helpful and I would definitly recommend staying there.

Uyuni Salt Flats has been on our bucket list for years and we were super excited to visit. It exceeded our expectations and will return soon. It is easy to get around the town. If you want to explore the salt flats and the Andes it's best to hire a tour guide. We had the best 7 days in and around Uyuni. We dined at Tika, Tacuru, and local vendors. The food was delicious and filling. Our favorite places were the salt flats and exploring the Andes.

Small derelict little town which wouldn’t be as busy if it wasn’t for the world famous salt flats. However, there are many restaurants and bars to accommodate tourists as well as a bus terminal and an airport. A must if you’re in South America.
The location of this hotel was on the edge of town, however, it was totally worth it to stay there. The local taxis did know where it was. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ana who was incredibly helpful. She only knows Spanish, so it is helpful if you speak some. The room was incredibly warm, with some parts of the floor heated which was incredible during the winter. The bed was big and comfy and the whole place was welcoming and clean. The breakfast was also free and good.
Awesome spot to stay in Uyuni! Great little hotel with excellent staff, and it's attached to the amazing pizza parlor Minutemen Pizza, run by an American expat who makes the best pizzas in Bolivia. Breakfasts are equally amazing. This is the place to stay in Uyuni -- you'll be treated like family and fed until you can't eat anymore. What a wonderful oasis of warmth and hospitality in this remote but beautiful corner of Bolivia. Highly recommend!!
We chose this hotel for one night before we left Uyuni as it's very close to the airport. However, late we found that it's indeed not necessary as Uyuni is a small town and the taxi fair from any hotel in Uyuni to the airport costs the same, 10 BOB per person. The lady in charge was nice and friendly. The room was comfortable and even had heating system. We had a warm night and a good rest. The hot breakfast was simple but good too.
Hotel Rey David was an easy walk to the center of Uyuni. Lovely room with big private bathroom. Quiet, even with windows facing the street. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Room was heated at night. Very helpful front desk staff. My compliments to the breakfast chef. Best sunny-side-up eggs I think I've ever had. She has a bright and welcoming personality to match. Thanks Hotel Rey David for a great stay in Uyuni.
Simple, relaxed, quiet hotel. Not touristy at all. Staff genuinely friendly. No issues. Rooms have gas heaters so you can stay nice and warm even in winter. Hot showers with good water pressure. Wi-fi seemed fine. 6 mins walk from Uyuni bus terminal. Located in quiet area so slept well, and would definitely stay again.
Lovely and care taking owners! I stayed for 3 nights during my scouting for a motorcycle tour through Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. I recharged my batteries here with very good breakfast, a peaceful atmosphere, great pizza in the evening and meeting interesting people from Uyuni and around. Thank you for a great time!
Room heater, hot shower, comfortable beds, walking distance from bus station, a simple and comfy breakfast of breads, eggs, tea, coffee.
It’s a basic stay with somewhat cramped spaces, but it has all the necessities for spending a very comfortable night in Uyuni before starting the Salar de Uyuni tour.
Very friendly and helpful owner. I came spontaneously for a day to Uyuni in the high season without reservation for a trip to salar de Uyuni. The owner helped me to get a place. The room was maintained. I felt comfortable in everything.
the hotel was extremely clean and the owner Cesare was very friendly and helpful.
room was a good size and the shower was powerful and hot. from what I’ve seen, this was definitely the best hotel in Uyuni!
Lovely hotel in Uyuni. Walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants. The hosts were so friendly and went out of their way to help us. Breakfast was basic but very lovely.
From the outside the hotel looks very different from the pictures and not what you'd expect but very ornate inside. Location to salt flats and train cemetery very convenient
The breakfast was the standard Bolivia hotel breakfast, so that was OK. They looked after my suitcase for three days, so that was good. It was cheap and functional.
