I was greeted by the Office Manager who was very easygoing and accommodating especially when I realized I didn’t read the fine print about the damage deposit. She held our room for us while I went to get cash for the deposit and return.
Upon opening the door, the room was noticeably bright, clean and smelled fresh. The spa tub was as relaxing as it looked and the room had all the amenities necessary for a last minute night away.
The place is very quiet and private with a very convenient location.
Don’t overlook this place next time you’re in Cobourg because it is much better than the chain hotels in every way.

Stayed here with my son for a local hockey tournament. Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, breakfast was well stocked and staffed. Facilities are a little run down, but for a short stay at a reasonable price this hotel provides the basics.

This is an older building that is very well maintained. The room appeared to be recently painted, recent flooring, a nicely renovated unit. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

I loved that you could walk everywhere. Lots of restaurants and bars, and little shops. In the summer the beach would be very inviting.
We went to a pub at night before our show at the Victoria concert hall,. We had a excellent breakfast at the buttermilk cafe.

Cobourg has something for everybody.
Cobourg has something for everybody. It's a quiet town with an interesting combination of (1) a sizeable marina catering to serious boaters & sailors, (2) a large sandy public beach area that attracts mostly families, and (3) a quaint historical tourist/restaurant zone that seems to be frequented mostly by seniors.

A beautiful town with some spectacular houses. Loved the marina and the houses along the water. Next time we're there, I'd love to walk around the town and see the sights and the concert hall
We arrived as the sun was setting and had to leave before noon the next morning

The town was charming.
The town was charming. Nice old homes, a beautiful large beach with a nice marina as well. Some nice restaurants and very close to Port Hope which we visited as well.
Unfortunately they roll up the sidewalks downtown between 8pm and 9pm. We left our room on Saturday night at 9:30pm to get something to eat and everything was closed except the fast food joints close to the highway.

Cobourg is a delightful town full of history and boasts the best beach on Lake Ontario (in our experience). It's very accessible, not only by road but enjoys excellent train service as well. Although it is growing quite quickly it has managed to retain its small town charm.
There was no breakfast except at McDonalds. The location was fair as I was visiting friends close by.. I lived in Cobourg for 41 years. The Motel I stayed at was much improved from what it used to be.. There are still 7 or 8 persons living there permanently. I havent' lived in the area for about seven years, so I went back for visitation. The air conditioner was a little too noisey but neccessary
A quaint old property in a great location. Easy access to the numerous restaurants downtown and the beach. The former jail yards that were converted into garden like areas were very nice. We really appreciated having the fully enclosed yard for our dog to get off the leash and run and play. Access to the Jail museum was interesting, if not a little creepy!
Jane was a caring and thoughtful hostess. Her accomodation is a special gem, especially if you want to relax a little. The highlight of the accommodation is definitely the cozy place on the waterfront with a private beach. In town, I was able to get to everything important without a car and found some good cafés/shops/restaurants to eat or take away food.
The hotel is located downtown within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants as well as the public beach. Although the hotel has no on-site staff to handle problems, even fully booked there were no parking or noise issues from other guests.
Take-away breakfast was adequate and convenient. Wifi was better than any of the 4* and 5* chains on our journey. Outside Cobourg proper, but only by about 5 minutes. Close to great local restaurant, Baltimore John's.
What a gem of a place! We were looking for a last minute stay near Cobourg and it was awesome!
Gorgeous rooms, comfy beds, fabulous meals and breath taking nature views…
We are definitely going back !!!
The breakfast did not have very many options, there was no croissants, bagels, nor was there any cream cheese or fruit, which is unheard of at a hotel, even a motel would have those things.
10 minute walk to the marina, beach, restaurants and shops. The room was clean. The adjacent room has microwave, coffee maker, kettle & regular sized fridge to share among guests.
Food was excellent for dinner and breakfast.
View was lovely and relaxing (we even saw 3 deer walking in the distance).
Lovely walking trails near the hotel.
