The Adaastra Boutique Hotel offers a curious blend of futuristic check-in processes and traditional comfort. First things first: the automated check-in process needs a spotlight warning when you book. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a bit of modern efficiency, but after a long journey, the last thing you want is to wrestle with a temperamental machine. You’re expected to input your reservation number, personal details, and then hope the machine graciously decides to issue your room card. My own battle with this digital beast ate up 30 painstaking minutes - far from a warm welcome.
Despite the rocky start, the hotel does redeem itself once you step past the lobby. The interior of the elevator and the room itself present a stark contrast to the frustrating tech.
