The hostel is an old house centrally located in the medieval and unspoilt small town of Castaño de Robledo. It has been carefully restored keeping many of the interesting period features of the house, and tastefully furnished. Our room was clean and comfortable. Guests have access to a fully equiped kitchen, a pleasant garden and a lounge. Sasha, the host, was extremely helpful and a mine of information about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and were sorry to leave.
Almonaster la Real is a beautiful village that we first...
Almonaster la Real is a beautiful village that we first visited around twenty years ago. It is set in a landscape of wooded hills with good opportunities for walking. Set on a hill above the village is the castle, bullring and the mezquita. the latter dates from the late ninth or early tenth centuries although it includes details recycled from the earlier Roman and Visigothic periods. It is a haven of peace and simple beauty. There area few bars and restaurants but, possibly because of the pandemic, there were very limited opportunities for eating in the evening except for Fridays and Saturdays.

Everything you read about this village is true!
Everything you read about this village is true! The village is very tranquil and well cared for and the scenery around is beautiful. In the summer season there a number of bars and restaurants open but it is quieter out of season. The local shops are excellent and other village facilities such as a cashpoint and post office are useful.

The hotel is right in the centre of Almonaster la Real with sufficient on street parking close at hand. The indoor public space is limited but comfortable. There is plenty of seating on the terrace which overlooks the pleasant, shady garden which has a swimming pool and more seating and sun loungers. The regular staff, Ismael and Virginia were unfailingly cheerful and very helpful. The rooms all have names, ours was Patricia, on the first floor which was a decent size with a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was extensive.
Perfect: room, bed, personal, and breakfast.
We were traveling with our baby, which is always stressful because you don't know in advance if the place is going to be comfortable and suitable for him. The personal was extremely nice and helpful with us, providing us with a crib and a baby bath without even asking, also with a high chair in the common area. The room was pretty spacious and the bed really really comfortable. The breakfast is insanely good. The hotel is located in the center of Almonaster.
The room was large, beautifully remodeled (in a historic building), quiet, and spotlessly clean.
The staff (Lucía, Asunción, Virginia, and Javier) were extremely friendly, helpful, and generous.
Breakfast was delicious, with homemade pastries and cakes, including an especially fabulous tarta de queso.
We had dinner in the hotel one night, and Asunción's cuisine was wonderful. (Dinner is not available every night.)
this hotel was a real find. staff were very attentive and took great care to help. we were travelling on motorbikes and they gave us secure parking on the site. the rooms were very well decorated and furnished . outside the pool , gardens and terrace were very pretty and it felt more like a private house Han a hotel . located in a beautiful village with great local feel and culture .
beautiful small scale hotel in old renovated building at superb location ( truly one of most beautiful villages in Spain), excellent breakfast with many homebaked cakes, very friendly staff ( who helped with our lunch and diner bookings), great location for the most beautiful hikes! and not to forget the awesome mezquita
This was hands down the best hotel we stayed this year, the room was spacious, you had everything you need and the bed is huge. Everyone from the staff was very friendly, breakfast was very good with lots of homemade sweets. Could not ask for more. Thank you!
A beautiful small boutique hotel with lovely quiet garden. The staff were exceptional and made us feel very welcome.
A very good selection. of homemade cakes on the breakfast buffet.
We loved the care, enthusiasm and friendliness of both Ishmeal and Virginia. Both worked very hard to make our stay memorable. Well done you are a credit to the hotel. 👍
