A one night stop over is not fair to judge a location.

More time spent exploring would help give a better overview. Impressions of an evening walk to get food was that Palencia is a large town comprised of a cathedral and blocks of flats - not really fair perhaps to Palencia!

As we were only there for one night it’s difficult to give a proper review but we thought it was nicely middle market, there would have been lots more to see than we could fit in but what we did see we liked

We loved the street life, the buildings, the cafes and bars and we were lucky enough to be there during the Palencia festival which added to the whole experience. People were friendly and helpful. The town is easy to navigate with lovely old buildings and the very old cathedral was especially interesting.

We walked down the main pedestrian avenue and found it run down and shabby. There were a few smart shops but a huge number of shop premises were empty and neglected and had attracted several beggars. On the way to Portugal we spent one night in Valladolid, a beautiful town and in complete contrast to Palencia. I know where we will be staying next time.
Room was comfortable, breakfast was very good with a lot of varied choices on offer. There was the option of underground secure parking, which was a bonus, though charged extra (per night basis, €8 per night and €10 deposit for fob to open the doors). Conveniently located near many local amenities (supermarkets, restaurants, fast food outlets, out-of-town businesses), and close to the autovia heading north to Santander and Bilbao (for the ferries). Palencia itself was a pleasant town to visit also
I slept well which is always the main thing. Hotel feels classy in a sort of 1990s way! Free parking options just a few minutes walk behind the hotel. Good wifi , lovely park over the train tracks with some nice cafes and bars next to St Pablo church. Palencia as a town is really nice and quite underrated so it is perfect for a one night stop. I do have suggestions for improvement (see them below!) but on the whole I was satisfied and would return.
Very spacious and comfortable room in a great location. A few minutes from the Plaza Mayor and the main shopping area. Plus, 10 minutes from the Cathedral.
Comfortable bed and a large bathroom with large shower enclosure.
Our room was very quiet with views over looking a mainly residential square at the back of the hotel.
We opted for the parking option which we found helpful especially as the car was rather loaded down.
Friendly professional reception staff & cleaning staff members.
Good set menu for lunch at a reasonable price.
Spacious room with relaxing green walls. Big television set.
Great location near the river, the Cathedral and the Church of San Miguel.
Reasonable value. It's my fourth stay within a lapse of time of eleven months and one knows what the stay is going to be like before you get there because it is a reliable hotel.
The owner of this hotel, Lourdes was amazing. She literally made us feel like family. She was extremely welcoming and genuinely friendly. She was always available when we needed help, took the time to talk with us and get to know us, and made us a lovely breakfast in the morning.
The hotel itself was nicely decorated and the rooms were clean and beautiful.
This is a very good hotel, and very good value for money. It is within easy walking distance of the Palencia train and bus stations. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They have a very nice common kitchen and dining room downstairs. And very good that the reception desk is manned the whole day.
Exceptionally clean and comfortable place - management sent us clear instructions way before our arrival and everything was great from the start. Definitively recomended to all who wish to visit Palencia. There is a public (paid) parking just below the building which is really convenient.
The hotel was really modern with beautiful interior design and furniture. I really like the color combination. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location is close to the city center and bus stop, a calm and quiet place as well. The place was really clean.
Excellent, many clean rooms, and a kitchen with great accessories. Great value, we only got a small hotel room for the same price and here you're getting an entire flat!
Isabel was friendly and helpful always.
Also, the place has a huge television.
The AC Hotel is easy to find from the motorway and has both exterior and interior secure parking. It is a very modern hotel located in a retail park on the outskirts of Palencia. The restaurant served a good evening meal and breakfast.
Basic and old.
Very cheap and everything is a bit battered. Full of character.
Friendly (my Spanish isn’t great but they are patient.
Right in the centre of Palencia. The rooms are comfortable and have what you would expect.
The breakfast was absolutely terrible!
Obviously cooked the day before! The only thing wrong apart from the parking! Very busy town NO parking anywhere! The hotel had underground parking but my car was too low so my fault!
Nice hotel, very classic and “castellano”. Clean, comfortable and in a great location. Good value for money. Staff was super friendly. We were very surprised by how beautiful Palencia is. Will definitely stay again.
Property did not exist or was not as advertised.
Could not find it and could not get in touch with host. Had to book into a hotel with 2 dogs!! Not ideal after a 7 hour drive!!😡
We liked the hotel and it's localization. I had information that gluten free diet would be in the hotel, but the waitress did not know anything about it.
