The best of this little town is that you have peace, quiet and also places to go for dinner, coffee shops and very nice for a little town. Very close to Queralbs and also you have cremallera to go visit Vall de Nuria, really beautifull place. We went in September, nice weather, not to hot, not cold at all. Close to Queralbs, nice to visit, little town.

What a lovely town in the middle of the mountains.
What a lovely town in the middle of the mountains. Easy accessible by train from Barcelona, stops right in the town. Many options for accommodations and mountain treks all around. The river flows through the town so the sweet noise of the flowing water is just so relaxing

Many hiking and running routes cross here, I think it also one of the last stops before Queralbs where you can buy supplies if you are going to hike there.
The town itself is very nice, beautifully set and pleasant to stay at.
There are surprisingly many cafes, bars, wine shops as well as stores selling local food, such as cheese, honey etc. There is also a small, historical cinema that is more than 100 years old, which we have yet to see.
Be prepared that during the week most facilities close at 8 PM.

Wonderful little village with nice restaurants with homemade local food. Great gourmet shops with cold meats, cheese and wine.
The area is connected to some wonderful places by the cremallera train which is expensive but well worth it. You can spend some great relaxing days in the Catalan mountains enjoying the stunning views.

The breakfast was good and the dinner at restaurant of the hotel was amazing (one of the highlights of our trip). Very family friendly and we felt welcome at the restaurant even with our toddler. We also appreciate that the kids menu was not chicken nuggets and fish sticks but proper food (such as a delicious seasonal mushroom omelette). Service was good and friendly. Room as one would expect from a three star hotel, clean and the bed was comfortable. Balcony was a nice plus.
This is a lovely hotel in a very nice location for hiking, catching the train to Nuria and just being around the centre of Ribes.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were wonderful.
The hotel is clean and although quite old it's very well looked after.
We just booked again for Christmas.
The bed was very soft. This isn't a complaint as it depends totally on taste.
Spacious room with antique furniture and wood paneling. bathroom was huge as well.
Big Window that could be opened. Lot of in build shelves for storage space. Thomas well appointed with a lot of convenience hooks and rods.
Free parking was available right outside the hotel just be sure to park within the white lines and don’t go near the yellow lines. Beautiful place and centrally located, close to many tourist sites.
This is not a hotel, so do not expect such. These are traditional old rooms, some with private bathroom, some shared, and the traditional terrace all Europeans enjoyed when visting their aunt or grandmother. For a long stay in Ribes, living as a local, Fonda Vilalta is perfect, quaint, even nostalgic. The rooftop terrace is a hidden paradise.
Gemma and Gil are lovely hosts.
Their care and attention to detail for us, made it a wonderful stay.
We will be returning in May for a longer stay.
The breakfast as superb value for money.
The bed was so super comfortable.
The hotel is located in the centre of town and therefore perfect for whatever purpose you have in Ribes.
The actual hotel was beautiful and very peaceful. The food was excellent and at very reasonable price. 26 euros for 3 course dinner. I had the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted. The breakfast was lovely and fresh which is pre-ordered the night before so lovely table service.
The staff were really lovely too and we really enjoyed the spa area.
Super housekeeper ms. Luisa - was absolutely helpful and friendly in all aspects of our stay. The hotel is very clean and fresh after the renovation, the room and the bathroom are nicely decorated. Although the hotel has its own parking (on additional fee) is we found free parking on the city streets.
It's a beautiful old hotel. I love all the wood, the tiled floors, the many little ornaments and trinkets. I had a problem with an allergic reaction to a tree just outside the room and the owner managed to put us in another room overlooking the stream even though the hotel was quite full at the time.
The location was incredible and relaxing. The staff was welcoming. The hotels suroundings are breath taking. Resaurant has good wine selection and the food is great. Breakfast delicious and plenty. I will definitely revisit!
Amazing and very unique hotel, surrounded by a park with a very nice trail.
The room great, with a super comfortable bed.
The breakfast was devine. Big variety of options and it was delicious.
gorgeous property near the centre of Ribes, supported by an extremely helpful host.
lots to do - hikes around Ribes de Freser, train up to nuria for walking and adventure park for kids.
Great hotel with a beautiful garden area, pool, and fun for kids (ping pong, basketball, trampoline, playground. Terrific location near everything in Ribes de Frasir.
