Location was nice, right on the main square of a small historical town. The hotel has lovely decor in both the communal spaces and the rooms. Breakfast was nice and eggs were made to order which was a nice touch.

Sardina is a small fishing port in the north of the island, with a nice bay, good canary style restaurants. Not spectacular but nice. Sardina is part of the larger Gáldat town with a historical city center. We used our week to exlore the whole island. We know Tenerife from several trips, but changed our opinion about GC, it is better.

This is a great location if you want a peaceful holiday with many swimming options in beaches and natural piscinas. There are also great hikes in the Agaete valley, and there many good restaurants in the area with ocean-view dining, such as La Pizarra in Playa Sardina, and Ragu in Puerto de las Nieves. If you want more excitement, Las Palmas is an easy 25 minute drive.

For people who like peace and quiet, the area of Faro de Sardina is ideal - most of the time you only hear the waves of the ocean, nothing else, at least in December, which obviously is not the high season. It is still nice and warm and pleasant for swimming, unless you want very warm water to swim in. The little harbor of Sardina is pretty, but as December does not seem a busy time, only one restaurant was open. However, the nearby town of Gáldar offers everything you need, and if you want more city action, Las Palmas is not far away either. If you go in the other direction you arrive at Agaete, an attractive fishing port with many nice restaurants. Beyond that, you can see some of the most spectacular scenery anyone could wish for: the 'Andén Verde', the coast between Agaete and La Aldea.

Gáldar, Agaete, Puerto de la Nieves around are worthwhile seeing. You can find nice things to see, nice panoramas and excellent restaurants. It is a good, quite basis for visiting around the island. You need a car for moving around.
