This would be a great place to stay if you had business to do in Valdepenas or, like us, you wanted a place to break your journey on your way to Andalucia. The kitchen was very well equipped so we ate in our apartment as the weather was extremely wet. The town is centred around wine production and it would be a great place for wine lovers.

Valdepeñas is a small city known for its wine making.
Valdepeñas is a small city known for its wine making. The hills are surrounded by grape vines and olive trees. There are several bodegas where you can take part in wine tasting. The plaza is beautiful and perfect for sitting at a cafe and people watching.

VDP is a working class spainish town mainly full of youmg families who I assume work on the vineyards etc. So don't come expecting designer shops like in Madrid because you will not find them.
What yiu will find is Avery spainish atmosphere with low cost shops and bars which offer good value for money and a true local experience. We were not disappointed but don't come with your tourist hat on, enjoy it for what it is and you won't be disappointed. You get a tapa with every dribk and the drinks are not expensive. Try rest san antonio for great food and interesting local menu.

The bed was super comfy, the room was spacious.
The bed was super comfy, the room was spacious. We were just there for a night on our way from Bilbao to Malaga. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice. The spa was good, we didn't try the gym. Steam room, jacuzzi and sauna not as hot as expected but comfortable.
Everything was lovely and clean but in need of just a little TLC! The staff, especially Cristina in reception, were very helpful, patient and friendly.
Lots of olive oil and wine!

Only stopping for one night on the way to Santander.
Only stopping for one night on the way to Santander. Saw a couple of museums in the town on the night, both excellent - the Municipal and the Wine museums.
Not a big town, can get to know it relatively quickly. The square (plaza) was pleasant and the staff at the bar we ate at were friendly.
If travelling that route again we would probably look to book a wine tour to discover more about the region however the wine museum was very informative.
Overall we were happy to choose Valdepenas as an overnight stop on our way North.
The property itself was beautiful with 2 large windows opening out on to the most beautiful square with restaurants , bars and a church. We were there on a Sunday so got to experience and share a family Sunday with the warmest of Spanish people . Probably our favourite stop off experience to date . We have been coming to Spain for years with our dog cali by ferry to Bilbao and stopover somewhere different each time on our trip south to Malaga . We will definitely return to Valdepenas and blanco y Añil
Travelling through Spain we wanted a night stop close to the motorway. E hotel is right on the motorway but the access is not easy . We were travelling north and came off at 197km sign but the hotel was the other side of the motorway. Sat nav was no help as the address is KM 197 . We had to travel a long service road , cross a bridge , get back onto the motorway and then access the slip road to the hotel. A better explanation of how to find the hotel is needed .
Location was right on the cathedral square, overlooking several fabulous cafés and restaurants. Everything was within walking distance. Even though our room was overlooking the square, it was not noisy at all (even the hourly church bells were lovely!). Hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating! Underground parking is convenient and nearby.
The quality price for this hotel was exceptional, the facilities extra clean, the bed super comfortable with a spacious room and bathroom, and super friendly and helpful staff, nothing more anyone could ask for. Absolutely a perfect and pleasant stay 👍😊
José very friendly and helpful, accepted dogs;Self contained studio, the surrounding was exceptional in a park with statues of animals, parking, and not far from Valdepeñas,there is an amazing suite for newly weds beautifully furnished with antiques.
Easy walk to lovely main square.
Safe under hotel parking.
Very good breakfast including egg and bacon.

-The room are adequate in size.
-They can provide you with a charging port in the parking
It is a nice hostal, good staff, lovely room, clean compact bathroom. Parking was in an internal yard. We were a 5 min walk from shops, bars and restaurants.
Nice hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The parking entrance was too tight for our van and they advised us on where to park. Breakfast was good too.
Good location, 250 meters from the city center. A nice little Hotel with very economic dinner menu options. Private secure parking options for the car.
