Luosto is a ski resort, we went in the summer for peace and quiet which we got. Easy trails for walking and climbing. Climb the mountain for a great view or the new mountain hut has opened with a short 1.7km steepish walk which leads onto longer trails

Absolutely beautiful. Stunning scenery. Lots of winter activities. Small village but wonderful and very friendly locals. Good bus service from outside the hotel. The ski bus was very useful for getting to different areas. Wonderful places to eat. Food was of the very best quality. Lovely gift shop in the village called Herianna. Full of wonderful gifts and the staff is fantastic,so warm and friendly. Also there is a great little shop that has everything you need for your stay.

Relatively less touristy than other Lapland towns even though it is the closest one to Rovaniemi. The town itself is very small but has all the activities Lapland can offer from skiing to husky safaris. If you have a rental car, I would suggest choosing a cottage house a bit far from the center to fully enjoy the remoteness and if lucky, the northern lights.

A must visit place in Arctic (Northern) Finland.
A must visit place in Arctic (Northern) Finland. The star attraction here is the Amethyst Mine. Luosto is at the edge of a huge national park, a bonus for nature lovers. You get to see herds of reindeers wandering around naturally near your hotel.
The house is clean. It has two rooms+living huge room + kitchen, sauna, bathroom, toilet. All is lovely decorated. The kitchen has everything to cook on and to eat from.
The ski traks began in two minutes walking from the house. The Luosto woods are wonder on the winter season! And Luosto resort has well-keeped ski traks through them. Loved to ski through the wonderful winter landscapes!
Loved the house! Loved the place!
Spacious, clean and cozy cabin in a very remote location a few minutes drive outside Luosto. Loved the silence and the peace. We were 2 adults and 2 children and had so much space, kids particularly loved the loft area. 2 separate bedrooms on ground floor and 3 beds in loft area meant it could sleep many more than us. Sleds on porch for children. Wood left for stove and wood burning sauna. Would highly recommend.
The property is great, located outside Luosto, about 25 min walk from the center of Luosto. To get there, taxi will charge you 25-30 EUR from Luosto (recommended if you have luggage), but otherwise after the arrival, for daily activities or groceries, walking is also OK. The area is very nice and quiet, neighbours are quite far, the kitchen was very well equipped, we had a great time.
Beautiful, warm, cosy log cabin with open fire and sauna. The pictures don’t do it justice! It was immaculately clean and the lovely hosts went out of their way to be helpful. A stunning, remote area with beautiful snowy scenery - just cabins dotted around a fir forest, and yet still only a 15/20-min pleasant walk to the nearest hotel/restaurant/shop area.
Perfect place for hikes and also watching Aurora, great hiking trails right next to the hotel.
Breakfast was delicious and very varied, with a lot of options for special diets including gluten free and vegetarian dishes.
Spa was also very nice and served as a perfect relaxing recovery after a day spent in the national park.
The breakfast spread was wonderful and the cabin had more beds than we needed (really long beds :P) - super comfortable though! And the hotel was close to the Amethyst mine and we also saw the Aurora Borealis through the window! All in all, total value for money.
Beautiful location, in the forest. The house is cosy, has a nice sauna, a beautiful garden, a kota and everything needed in the kitchen. It is located 10 minutes drive from Luosto, which is perfect. Easy to get in touch with the manager.
Really lovely log cabin set in woodland, but still within walking distance of Luosto. Beds were nice and comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with equipment and utensils. Cabin was nice a warm with constant hot water.
Lovely log cabin hotel, with comfortable bedrooms, 2 bookable saunas, and two common area with fireplaces. The staff were lovely and breakfast was excellent - a fantastic spread served in a lovely room with a fire lit.
A quiet place a bit outside of Luosto's main area but within a walking distance. Nice and cozy place if you're looking for a base near the natural parks. Well equipped kitchen.
The staff was nice, breakfast is amazing and we really enjoyed the spa. The hotel has plenty of services. The room was okay but I think the cost is too high.
