This is a beautifully decorated hotel that truly deserves the label boutique. The public areas are welcoming and chic, and there was a lovely sitting room area just off the breakfast room (with a small honesty bar). Check in was quick and the staff were friendly (some staff did not speak English, but it was manageable if you knew a knew a few words of French).
Breakfast was continental (no hot options) but the high quality selection of meats, cheeses and pastries was more than ample. Fresh orange juice and a comprehensive selection of teas and coffees were available. Breakfast was available 8am til 11am, which I thought was particularly generous and allowed for a good lie in.
The room was, again, very nicely presented with gorgeous high ceilings and huge windows. The bed was comfy, linens were of a good quality, as were the towels. There was a stocked mini fridge, but the prices were surprisingly high. Shower room and separate toilet were clean and well stocked (hairdryer, robes, shower gel etc). Air con was great and very quiet. Wifi worked well throughout the hotel.
The pool area is small but perfectly formed, with several loungers/chairs. Towels are provided. We visited in early October so the pool area lost the sun by 11am but we still enjoyed an afternoon dip.
The hotel is about a 15 min uphill walk from the train station (there's a bus to/ from the airport that leaves three times a day. €2 per trip). The main squares/restaurants are approximately a 10/15 minute walk.

For The cost the room was clean and newly renovated but the neighborhood is less intersting. The owner seems to be making an effort to upgrade.

Béziers is a nice middle-sized town with a long historic past which has left some very interesting monuments.
There are a number of excellent restaurants which offer a large choice of food.
I recommend visiting the place in spring or in summer .

Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town.
Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and the old town. Also visited Les 9 Ecluses de Fonseranes and Tunnel du Malpas (Canal du Midi), and Oppidum d'Enserune (a 2,500 year old celtic settlement). Also drove to the nearby coastal towns but were disappointed that there was not more activity for the time of year (early/mid September).

I ended up staying in Beziers spontaneously without doing any research, and that's also how I ended up at Hotel la Prison. It was a great surprise all around. There are loads of things to see around Beziers, and a lot of history I had no idea about. A good cultural getaway and escape.

This was a great surprise, a very pretty town with a great range of shops and restaurants. It is small and very easy to walk around if you use the main pedestrian route which leads from the train station up through a charming park. The towns of Sete, Agde. Narbonne and Perpignan are all only a short train ride away.
This apartment is a jewel in the city of Beziers. It's centrally located, on a quiet street, which highly exceeded our expectations. It's a beautifully appointed apartment, completely modernized, in a traditionally French building. Every imaginable amenity was available here and extra bonus was that there was a king size bed in the main bedroom - a luxury in Europe. It was a very easy stay here and communication with our host was excellent. Highly recommend to stay here. You'll be glad you did.
Everything was fabulous. Alain made us feel right at home. He was so welcoming and friendly. The apartment is really well equipped and the host provides so much more than other places. The views from the windows are stunning. We highly recommend Alain's place if you are visiting Bèziers. The location was fantastic and we walked all over the city. Our stay was so comfortable and we didn't want to leave.
Beautiful property, we had a room with a garden. Exceptional breakfast was served in a garden. Our host Robert was very helpful and fun to talk to. Very good location within a walking distance to historic part of the town. Would definitely come back next time we will be visiting that area.Travel a lot and stayed in many different places, this one is definitely one of the best!
Everything about Villa Guy was a delight. The host made us exceptionally welcome introducing us to the history of the villa making our stay very special. The interior decoration is outstanding, combining the original decor with a contemporary vibe; this along with a great feel of luxury was a sound out feature for us. The garden is magnificent and the cocktails outstanding.
Beziers is a beautiful and historic provincial French town. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the railway station on a charming tree-lined avenue in the centre of the town. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity and many little traffic-free side streets to explore. The hotel is clean, modern and very welcoming.
I arrived late but parking was reserved opposite the hotel. The room was comfortable with a small ensuite shower. There was space to put my luggage and a comfortable bed. Also a plug for phone by the bed. Staff were extremely welcoming in the morning for breakfast which was good.
Absolutely beautifully restored and decorated apartment smack bang in the center of Beziers. The owners were fantastic and had kitted out the apartment amazingly. great art on all the walls and eye for detail. Very friendly and helpful, very comfortable, beautiful stay!
Beautiful hotel! Hubby and I need a break from the river barge experience😳 I booked this hotel the night before we arrived in Beziers. We loved our one night stay! It was a very beautiful and comfortable. We loved the location in the square next to good restaurants.
Everything is amazing. Fun and gorgeous interior design. Close to city. La Villa Guy makes the whole trip. We spent an entire day just sitting by the pool. The staff are so accommodating and make it feel like a family. Didn’t want to leave.
This a fantastic new hotel with great design solutions for its unusual building - having been a prison before. The view from the restaurant terrace is also spectacular! If you're visiting Béziers, absolutely stay in this little gem.
Great location for a boutique hotel. Worth paying for the superior rooms that face the square. Kill the bright lights at night by shutting the shutters that lie outside by the juliet balcony. Very clean, useful lifts.
The staff was super friendly and helpful even though we didn't speak French.
The hotel was Right in the Middle of the Alley, center of Everything. Perfect
