Hôtel du Beffroi Gravelines Dunkerque, hotel in Grand-Fort-Philippe

Located in the town center of Gravelines, just 3.7 mi from the Dover-Calais ferry departure point, this hotel offers a restaurant and bar and rooms with attached bathroom with free WiFi.

Very decent place for an overnight stay before boarding the ferry in Calais the next morning. Located in attractive small town. Would definitely do this again. Plus they have a good size family room, at affordable price. Not sure however whether I would want to stay here longer than one night.

Les Berges, hotel in Grand-Fort-Philippe

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Les Berges offers accommodations with a garden and free Wifi.

The property was lovely. The conservatory where we had breakfast was beautiful looking out over the mature garden. Breakfast was excellent quality and a great way to start the first day of our holiday. The room had everything we needed, was very comfortable and very clean. We were delighted to stay at Les Berges with impeccable hosting.

Unfortunately we did not arrive early enough to be able to explore as we had hoped. Also the coastal access to the hotel was under construction therefore we were rerouted and detoured to the hotel which made it difficult to find. The hotel should include what cafe's or restaurants are close by, we did not know that there was a very unique restaurant near the hotel and had to go to McDonalds for dinner that evening.

I was only traveling through, having visited Dunkerque and on my way to the South, but I would have loved to stay longer in this town. I didn't visit the beaches (in Petit-Fort-Philippe) but from a distance they looked ideal for a family trip. I did make walks on the "Grand" side of the harbour along the coast and in the nature reserve. Really beatiful and relaxing.

Lovely locale and views but not a lot going on in the winter. Looks like all the bars/cafes on the waterside have either closed for good or, hopefully, just the season. Luckily, the ecellent 'Aux Mets de Meme' restaurant is still going strong but lunchtimes only except for Fri and Sat. You can see all the open restaurants and bars across the water in Petit Fort Phillipe but they are a good 5kms drive away!

A very small town with hardly any bars and no restaurants but if you are prepared for a 10 minute cycle ride you are in Gravelines with a few bars etc. A lovely beach is nearby and I had some nice walks along it.
