Lovely hotel with a very large room! We also had a very lovely meal on the balcony looking over the river. Last but not least, it is walking distance from the Grotte du Pech Merle....but not thet 15-20 mins, like they tell you. Maybe if you are a flying goat, you can get there in that time!!! Haha. . We are quite fit and it took us @ 40 mins on a pretty narrow and steep way, well worth it though; the cave is AMAZING!

Very nice small hotel (just four rooms, I believe) and private running restaurant. We had some sightseeing plans for the evening but were so charmed by the tranquility that decided to relax at swiming pool instead. Had fantastic dinner as well. Vacation time well spent.
Hosts speak very little English but communication was sweet and super friendly. Thank you!

This village definitely has earned its « Plus Beau Village de France » designation. It’s like stepping into a medieval movie set. Try to go a bit off season so that it’s not too crowded. Lots of uphill walking is required but you are rewarded at every corner with wonderful views and many great restaurants with outdoor terraces to sit for a full meal or just a glass of wine or a « glace »

We had a beautiful stay in this hotel, the room was absolutely gorgeous with a stunning view. Everything about the room was superb. The village is so beautiful with lots of lovely cafes/restaurants and little shops. The breakfast was so lovely and served on a lovely terrace overlooking the village. Would highly recommend the hotel & village ❤️

Indeed one of the most beautiful villages!
Indeed one of the most beautiful villages!
Not all the stores and restaurants were open as my visit was in October which is not peak season but that wasn't an issue. There were still plenty of good restaurants to visit.

Loved Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
Loved Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Wonderfully preserved small old village in a beautiful position high above the Lot river. We really only had one day so spent the morning exploring the town and in afternoon we drove to Bouzies and walked the first kilometer of the towpath back to St-Cirq-Lapopie, and we had a tour of Perche-Merle caves. Could have stayed much longer and spent more time exploring the village and the walking paths nearby. Could have also walked the whole towpath and got a boat for the return trip. Pleas note that Perch Merle caves which are amazing and well worth the visit need to be booked well in advance in summer, either on website which I found difficult, or by ringing which was easy. Dont be put off if you can only get a French speaking tour. They give you a booklet with all the information in English. Finally after we left St-Cirq-Lapopie we went south to Najac which is another bastide town and evn better preserved than St-Cirq-. Lapopie. Well worth a visit

Maison Lapopie was as sweet and lovely as is the town. Fabian and Charlotte have done a magnificent job at their hotel. Everything is thought of, it is spotless, with lots of small touches that make one’s stay more comfortable. Their breakfasts were terrific, and their assistance with excursion ideas was top-notch. Even their dog was perfect! We could not have been happier.
Everything was perfect! Beautiful small hotel with a very charming decoration. Attention to detail. Fabien and Charlotte, the owners, were there to solve any request or answer any question. My wife and I had a satisfying experience and, no doubt, best breakfast ever.
