Nice hotel, room was decent size but the bed wasn't comfortable (made some awful noises when turning over). Evening meal and breakfast was average pub grub. Very expensive for what we got. It was missing the little details.

The location was perfect for hiking in and around the area. The staff, the room, the evening meal and breakfast were all exceptional!
Amazing value for money.
The building itself with the backdrop of the mountains was truly breathtaking.
Highly recommended.
Will definitely be going back.

Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest...
Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter. The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring. Plenty of small shops, restaurants and traditional pubs as well as two supermarkets.

A terrific little town, great local shops, interesting Wordsworth Museum. Pic of us dressing up in Museum! Good town centre parking. Lots of pubs and places to eat. There's even a theatre. The whole place is old but very interestingly pictureque. We will make a habit of coming back

Broughton Craggs is a few miles from Cockermouth and well placed for the Northern fringe of the Lake District. I was walking some of the English Coast Path from Bowness on Solway to St Bees and the location was fine for doing that stretch in bits.

Lot of the others the provided pictures flattered them with these the opposite they do not do them justice. So much space in the accommodation and the facilities were first rate. We opted the optional breakfast and glad we did the produce used were first rate. It was close to the river and all the shops and restaurants/bars. We arrived and noticed that we hadn't got any towels but by the time we had been for a quick walk we got back and they had been sorted out for us.
