We enjoyed the home cooked breakfast and dinner optionally provided by the hosts. The balcony was a great spot to spend the evenings enjoying their homemade wine and garden views. Nice updated rooms too.

Comfortable room, amazing big meals with plenty of excellent home-made wine, possibility to wash laundry, clean tap water. Very warm and friendly hosts that helped us with everything: gave us a lift to a nearby national park for a dip in the river, and even came with us to the local hospital after an ankle injury on a hike. Great humor and good conversations! Highly recommended!

The National Park is a very old, massive forest that has incredible density and colors. There are many trails to take and you can go all the way to the Border to see 3 glacier lakes surrounded by beautiful views. The restaurant in the park, near the entrance is also quite good.

Lagodekhi has a beautiful national park/reserve, which is the main attraction there, with several routes to waterfalls and lakes (great place for hikers). The town itself is small but quite ok. The people are nice. There are several wine-cellars that one can visit to try local wines.

There's nothing to see in Lagodekhi itself other than the beautiful mountain backdrop. I'm told the long-distance hikes into the high mountains are as impressive as any in the Caucasus. The short walks to the waterfalls, which many travellers like myself seem to come for, are very pleasant rather than spectacular, but you should be aware that they are not effortless strolls. They involve some clambering up and down steep rocky slopes in places and some river crossings either on very fragile bridges (sometimes washed away) or through the icy rushing water itself.

We enjoyed nature and the more than a century old nature reserve as a highlight! You can make one or more days trekkings by walking or horse riding. At the reception of the park they are kind and helpful. You can rent tents and sleeping bags but also enjoy a one day trekking to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim!
