Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge.
Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge. There is a trail in the gorge, but we didn't have time for that. So we stopped along the road above and followed the path passed the Church of Saint Nicholas down to a beautiful view of the waterfall.

Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras...
Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras Gorge to Kourtaliotiko gorge, city is small and quite. Beaches in city itself not seems are extraordinary, they have many rocks, but on the left end is there a nudist beach

Plakias has a nice village feel with nice beach's and plenty of tavernas, supermarket's, bakers and butchers, all within easy walking distance. We found the food at Antoni's Place was excellent and staff very helpful.

Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing.
Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing. As we were half board we didn't try many of the bars/restaurants on offer. We were going to go on a boat trip but one of our daughters was ill so we had to abandon that idea. My other daughter and I did visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge and waterfall which was amazing and we made it to Souda beach on the last day which had lovely clear water. We had a car so we could travel around. I personally think that is an essential if you want to explore the area as it takes a while to drive anywhere as the roads are quite small and bendy!STEPHENUnited Kingdom

Our host met us a provided a wonderful welcome with a small bottle of Raki to enjoy on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast was provided at the Blue Cafe next door. A wonderful breakfast omelette and eggs were served with good coffee! Lovely sandy beach with easy access and as a bonus a wheelchair access right into the water! We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

The apartment size was ideal, but the absolute winner was the balcony, offering the opportunity to enjoy the views from sunrise to sunset, sunbathe, stargaze at clear night skies. Maria was the most caring host, available, responsive and thoughtful. It was very visible to us that Creta Spirit is the result of a labour of love. Would go back in a heartbeat

Very friendly, we were welcomed with a fresh juice and lucky out too was available before official checkin. it was spotless clean room in a great location, 2 mins from the seafront. We had a sea view strong AC and good wifi. beds are comfortable, good water pressure for the shower. Breakfast is available along with bbq area, but we didn’t try. The shower room is also spacious compared to the default ones. The kitchen unit has pretty much everything you need. We also liked the proximity to the various beaches and got good hints from the nice host where to dine etc. Parking a car is not a problem and it is for free and there are supermarkets close by.AdnanGermany
