Nice location, good cabins with hot shower. Set menu dinner was delicious and plenty. Prices are reasonable for food & drinks. Can swim around the river, and use free tubes. Helpful staff and good communication. Organized our boat trip to Livingston with no problem.

Place was lovely and so was the staff. About 20 minute walk from where the buses let you off or the lanchas. She helped to arrange a boat to Livingston and made pancakes in the morning for everyone at the hostel. Stayed there again after going to livingston I liked it so much.

Extraordinarily nice staff. Clean rooms, great restaurant.
I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

Beautiful remote location with many jungle lodges (from super remote to more public) along the river. Great jungle hikes, caves, kayaking with plenty of nature and wildlife. Definitely a required stop when visiting Guatemala, will visit again!
We are very satisfied about our stay:
- hotel boat picks you up from the shuttle stop (we arrived from Lanquin) and they bring you back at check-out
- friendly and efficient staff
- clean and cute cottage, good showers, comfortable beds
- good food and pricing at the restaurant
- we did 2 of the activities offered: rainforest path (perfect for a late afternoon sport/nature time) and the sunrise kayaking to see the monkeys. Both recommendable!
- relaxing pool area
- good cocktails
Hotel Casa Perico is a great place to relax. In the middle of nature, yet very comfortable. Friendly staff who prepare fine meals. The hotel is only accessible by boat. You can go to the Sundog restaurant in Rio Dulce. Tell the bar that you want to go to the hotel. Then a free shuttle will be organised. The boat trip takes 5-10 minutes.
There is free canoe rental, which I enjoyed very much.
Delicious food (french toast and the buffalo chicken salad are my recommendations!) , impeccably clean hotel, kind and extremely helpful staff. I stayed here towards the end of my travels and had injured my leg, the staff were so helpful and kind with their advice, ice pack and even coming into the pharmacy with me to help me translate when I needed some medication.
The manager - Angela - is incredible! A true hospitality professional (rare in Central America!) & excellent travel advice. She the reason our stay was as amazing as it was! The hotel itself is beautiful, We stayed in the "Enchanted Cottage", which was just lovely. The entire property has charming board walks and paths. The restaurant was ideal - delicious menu!
This is my go-to whenever I'm in Rio Dulce. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel set the shores in Rio Dulce. Facilities are amazing, staff is top-notch, food is fantastic, and owners give back to community. All around fantastic establishment and experience. I will always go here when I'm in Rio Dulce. Highly recommended always.
The hotel is actually much nicer than the photos. Our room was upgraded and we were given an amazing room right next to the water and marina. The pool is large and very clean, And the food at the restaurant was excellent, really good quality, so although a little more expensive than in some places, it was definitely worth it.
We got a room not facing the street (i.e. #3), and it was one of the best nights of sleep we had in 5 weeks in Guatemala. AC, wifi in the room, very comfortable bed and pillows (way above Guatemala standard) and a great shower. The cafe is also fantastic with delicious breakfast for Q20-Q30.
We had a very nice one night stay. Unfortunately we arrived late but the hotel still picked us from Rio Dulce. Free boat pickup. Shared bathroom was clean. Clean basic room with a fan. Free kayaks to use around. It’s a good place to relax. Delicious pancakes & fair prices. Helpful staff.
Lovely rooms (incl airconditioning), nice pool, good food, great staff. After getting ripped of at the Boatique Hotel, this was a great alternative. We wanted to do the jungle walk before it was open due to a shuttle we had to catch. The staff organised that we could get in early.
No breakfast included so we always went to the back shop for coffee only. I thought it would be included considering the price and the custom of breakfast included in most Guatemalan accommodation
It was a great pool and overall the staff tried to do their best
Food and drink at the hotel is excellent, served with a smile and a chat. The restaurant overlooks the river so the view at meal times is fantastic. We really enjoyed being able to take a kayak down the river.
I had enjoyed very much to stay there. It was a perfect way to end my journey through Guatemala. A great place to relax to eat excellent food and to enjoy the nature and surroundings. Muchas gracias por todo.
Liesel was awesome and communicative. The food was outstanding (did a 4 course dinner with wine pairing), and the whole vibe of the hotel was relaxed and modern while still being an eco lodge.
Everything - I was so sad to leave. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful place. Tim, Alejandra, Rasta & Luna could not do more to make sure you have a nice stay.
We stayed for 1 night to split the drive between Flores and Guatemala City. It was fine for that. Service was good. Extra large double bed was comfortable.
