Really great, quiet location on Lake Atitlan. Very comfortable bed, hot water in the showers, cool atmosphere. You can take out kayaks to explore the lake. It’s only a 25 minute drive/taxi ride from the Indian nose hike. Definitely do the sunrise hike, you don’t need a guide and you’ll be back in time for breakfast!

The couch was very comfortable to sit on. It had 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a double bed. It's part of a property with several other bungalows behind a pricey but tasty coffee shop/cafe (Nativo Coffee Shop). It had an eco filter and an ice machine, so free ice water was awesome

We could not have had a better experience staying here. Domingo the host was the most accommodating, offering help any way he could and really elevated our 5 day stay. The house itself was in a perfect location: close to all the main in in San Juan la Laguna, while remaining just off the beaten path. The house and rooms were plentiful and spacious, and the rooftop terrace out of this world. We were 7 people and felt like we had more than enough space. We had so much fun staying here and would stay here again in a heart beat. San Juan La Laguna is a beautiful town with real heart surrounded by gorgeous mountains and inhabited by generous, interesting people. If you are thinking of coming to Lake Atitlan, I could not recommend enough staying in San Juan enough. And Casa Elenita only exceeded any expectation we had.

I've visited over 20 countries and stayed at all kinds of lodging in dozens of cities. The hospitality of Javier and Maria has so far been unmatched. Their attentiveness and generosity towards guests is unparalleled in my experience. Because it only has two rooms with two beds each, we were able to be sole guests during our stay. Do not miss the Temescal experience led by Maria.
The sunrise views are spectacular.
Although, it's very tranquil, like any good traveler, bring earplugs as some town dogs might serenade you in the middle of the night, but nothing that should disrupt your sleep or tranquility. This is good advice for most towns in Lake Atitlan.
Also, notify Javier Mendez of your estimated arrival as there's a three minute walk to the site and best if led by him.
The rooms are quite of a good size, lots of room to move around.
I highly recommend it. It's not the Hilton, but very charming and comfortable. I plan to come back next time I'm in Atitlan.

Such a cute town, I wish I had more time to explore because some places were closed on the weekends. It's very close to the party life in San Pedro but much more chill so you can go back to sleep and hang in peace, which I preferred.

Small village, squeezed between party San Pedro and yogi San Marcos. Nice to visit these place but to stay a little bit more outside the crowd. There are some hidden jams: cafe Las Maria’s (great coffee and view!!), caffe La cabañas (great view over the lake, >20 different beers), cafe el artesano (lots of cheese and hams🧀 , it is real touristy (older rich tourists) though, but if you are missing the cheese of home it is a good place to forget about your homesickness 😉)

I fell in love with town as soon as got there.
I fell in love with town as soon as got there. The view is unbelievable beautiful. You can appreciate the Indian Nose Mountain because it is right next to the town. It is so worthy to watch the sun setting and rising. Their church and park are just unique. I cannot wait to get back there.
