Loved the vibe of this small town. We felt "off the beaten trek", but looking at the area we were probably just there in the off-season. Room was spacious and kitchen very well equipped. We did the small hike from town to the Rocca. Great walk through a magical forest. Kids loved it!

Marlene met us when it was pouring with rain, she showed us where to park, she gave me an umbrella. Nothing was too much trouble for her. It was like we had just met a long lost friend. So welcoming and an amazing array of food left for us which we could easily make a meal as well as breakfast. Although we didnt speak Italian and she didnt speak English, we communicated well, google translate helped. Our little dog Ria thought she had made a best friend for ever. Great stay..only one night but incredible one. Thank You Marlene.

Nice and quite country house (first floor with separate entrance). Excellent pizzeria just 4 min by car from the hotel. One can hike to the ancient Orino castle by foot directly from there, through some woods and pleasant Italian villages.

A lovely hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful. There were wonderful views from our balcony overlooking Lago di Maggiore and the high mountains beyond. The food in the restaurant was first class as it was in the the Bistrot Imbarcado, which the hotel also runs, and where the seating is alongside the lake. A good ferry service from Porto Valtravaglia makes it easy to visit Stresa, the Borromeo Islands and market day in Luino. We will certainly be back!
