We loved pretty much everything about this hotel. The location was perfect, with a private, not crowded beach in Lugano Lake, two swimming pools that were perfectly clean and well-prepared for the guests, and great service and food. I think it was also great value for money

The manager Pablo( or owner)?? was an absolute pleasure! He was helpful and had lots of good advice and suggestions regarding what to do in his small town. The location of the hotel is ideal as well…. if you want to stay in this town! Naively we had expected it to be a little more convenient to get to. The room itself was lovely with a fabulous little balcony overlooking the lake.

The stay we had in the River House in Porlezza was great. The kind host Laura has provided clear instructions on how to get property and has met us to check in and show the apartment. Also, it was very easy to get in touch with her for additional requests during the stay. It was a big surprise to discover the welcome gifts as cold drinks and true Italian pasta, she has offered. It is a sign of real Italian hospitality! The apartment is big and comfortable, suitable to accommodate a big family. The kitchen has every utility you will need during the long stay. The small balcony with a river- and mountain- view will add a pinch of flavor to your morning coffee cup. I would recommend this place to a friend and hope to come back myself.

Porlezza was a quiet and very relaxing place to stay.
Porlezza was a quiet and very relaxing place to stay. We enjoyed shopping at the local butchers and grocery stores as we cook a lot. The city is very easy to navigate and has a beautiful lakeside location. The locals were quite helpful and mostly friendly.

...a bit of a gem...friendly, peaceful, not over-priced and the scenery is awe inspiring. We left the opposite route against the wishes of google maps. This (left of lake) exit affords a good mountain route but the driver must concentrate on the road...nice route though....which also leads to the highways etc

A rather smallish town by a beautiful and clean/warm enough for swimming Lake Lugano. City center is small but nice, typical old Italian village atmosphere, not much to see in the town itself but very relaxing environment. A small amusement park, Luna Park, is open there June-July, nice for small kids and reasonably priced. Great supermarket (Carrefour), open from 6 AM-midnight every day is near the town centre. The large camping sites in the area are great for meeting other people for all over Europe, mostly families and older people. Lots of nearby towns and cities, reachable by car but beware of crazy mountain roads with hairpins and narrow village streets, that can be very slow to drive in places (but, of course very scenic and beautiful!).
We felt welcome and the house was very clean and tidy with everything needed for a relaxed holiday. The house was also modernised with a large kitchen, all equipement included such as oven, freezer, toaster, microwave, and other kitchen accessoires. Parking space very nearby and the lugano lake just around the corner. Also supermarkets very close by.
We had very nice stay and would recommend!
We had a wonderful stay here and Viviana was very friendly and thoughtful. We had to check-in late but it was no problem as she waited for us with a welcome drink and snacks! Next day, since it was raining, she even provided us with some rags to clean our motorbike! The dog was also very well behaved. The location was convenient to visit lake Como and other places nearby. Highly recommend!
The location and setting of this hotel is amazing. We had a patio area looking towards the beautiful hill. It was quiet and privat. There was a garden area for all guests with a small swimming pool looking out towards the lake and an outdoor shower and sun bathing area. Very beautiful. I recommend checking with the property directly about the quality of beds.
I paid for the hotel and when I have arrived it took an hour to explain to the staff. at the beginning they rejected because couldn’t find my name on their book list. then they told me I should pay extra amount because Booking.com was wrong price. when I went to sleep with the 3 kids sleeping in the car and waiting for me it was 00:40 midnight.
Most amazing hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Scenery is mind blowing, almost makes you not want to sleep because you can’t stop looking at the amazing mountains, sky lake and more…
Staff made you feel like the most important people on them planet. I loved how they come to your door in the evening to provide you with snacks and drinks.
Rooms were nice and new with a view of the lake from the window. The breakfast was good. The lady that runs the hotel is very nice and made sure we were comfortable!
We chose this place as a cheaper alternative to staying in Lugano and ended up liking it more. Will definitely be back to stay again!
Lovely river outside our room which was nice to listen to all night. The hotel is filled with the owners art work which is fantastic.
Nice location within walking distance to restaurants.
The elevator didn’t work and there were quite a few steps involved. The owner helped with bags.
Great location, clean, and views! Easy to travel to Menaggio and catch the ferry to Bellagio. Porlezza is a pleasant surprise and hassle great restaurants. The owners are wonderful and very helpful!
The hotel has beautiful views of Lake Lugano. The facilities in the hotel were great. We enjoyed the family spa and beach very much. The hotel also has several restaurants you choose from.
Nice location with great view towards the lake. Clean and spacious rooms. Superb friendly and nice staff. Free parking area infront of the hotel. Definetly planning to visit again.
Hosts kindly assisted with baggage. Nice spacious apartment with 2 balconies - a short walk from lake and on the bus route to Lake Como. Town very laaid-back.
