Fascinating place, with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants. The town houses the Zuiderzee Museum, which is well worth a visit. The town centre is very picturesque with old renovated houses. We took our bikes and used them a lot whilst there, but walking is perfectly feasible.

Very picturesque old town and harbours
Very much still a vibrant living town but beautifully preserved too
Cycling or walking north along the dyke gives great views of the water on one side and into the local agriculture and way of life on the land side
The passenger ferry across the IJsselmeer gives a gentle day out to Friesland

It is a quaint town!
It is a quaint town! For museum-lovers Enkhuizen houses a cultural museum of old Holland. The old town is bordered by dikes and the Suyder Sea; so finding one's way down-town is easy . I enjoyed walking around and had several good meals. The "tijdloos" restaurant is worthwhile visiting with friends as they serve interesting small portion dishes and you can spend a couple of hours enjoying good food.

Easy to walk around, and the Zuiderzee museum is well worth a half-day. Very friendly locals, very good restaurants and a lovely, and lively harbour. Just a nice place to spend a couple of days and only an hour by train from Amsterdam with frequent service..
Very friendly people at the reception, they did everything to make me feel welcome and how I could improve my stay (and advice on my journey as well). The hotel is a fine mix between cozy / stylish and the location is superb, my single room was very spacious and clean (the Pink room is what they called it I believe, because of a stylish dark pink wall I'd say :)). Step outside and you're in walking distance of many bars and beautiful parts of Enkhuizen. If there's a room in this hotel I'd like to visit again another time.
Gorgeous little apartment which has anything you could possibly need for a weekend away. Oscar and Ciska are the loveliest people. Carrying our bags to the apartment and bringing us breakfast every day (which was yummy and well presented!). They are kind and chatty and made sure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality was very much appreciated and really topped off our visit to Enkhuizen. We’ll definitely be coming back in the future.
The owners were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help and accommodate my needs (gluten and lactose free breakfast, a lower pillow, the train timetable - printed out no less - to Alkmaar, carrying my suitcase up to my room and back down when I left). Bed comfy, great water pressure in the shower, heating efficient, breakfast ample. They seem to be a very family friendly hotel, too. Lots of options for the kids.
Tulpenhuis and Enkhuizen are brilliant! 3 good-sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus downstairs WC, well-equipped kitchen, sitting room and dining area all plenty of room for our group of 5 (3 adults and 2 teenagers). Everything worked really well, and Marius our host was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. We'd recommend renting bikes and cycling along the coast on a summer's day.
This is an excellent small hotel. Very friendly staff (who were very patient with my lack of Dutch), who checked me in quickly. My room was also great - very comfortable bed, great shower. I had two very good nights' sleep. I also ate in the restaurant both nights: the food is terrific!
Very friendly and obliging family-run hotel in a great location over-looking the river. Close enough to walk to the train station, even for older people pulling bags. Great breakfasts, bar/lounge area for relaxing at the end of the day and a lovely historic feel.
Unload luggage from car parked on sidewalk. Boat is right behind house/office. Free parking at train station and 5 min lovely return walk. Breakfast hit the spot. Sitting on back deck in setting sun is worth 1 million. Views beat any stuffy hotel
SuyderSee had last minute availability for us and it was a perfect fit for our family! The staff were so nice and accommodating. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The morning breakfast was perfect. We would stay again!
We loved this hotel. It was our second stay there. Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Great restaurant. Lovely breakfast. Pretty garden for a summer evening with very good singer on the Saturday night.
Fine hotel in down town Enkhuizen right next to the Koepoort. Private parking opposite the hotel.
Services are good, most likely the best you can find in this relatively small town.
Good (Dutch) breakfast.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Option of an omelette or sunny side up not a feature in many Dutch hotels, breakfast above expectations. Old style mini bar with small drinks a great touch.
Quiet location but within walking distance of the centrum. Right by the historic Koepoort gate. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice bathroom with jetted tub. Great breakfast. We would return.
