Wherever you go by car, nature leads you to stop and take a breath. There is a lot of driving around, but there is never the feeling of rushing. Ferries are rather expensive (next to everything else) - so inform yourself before you start your trip. But it's worth it. Soon a tunnel to Stavanger (starting in Jorpeland) will be opened - so this could be an even faster way to reach this place. People are very friendly and helpful, no matter where you go to. We were surprised to learn that Mid-August is end of season. So we were lucky to visit the Viking Museum and Village on its last day open.
