Oppdal has many options for hiking around during the summer...
Oppdal has many options for hiking around during the summer time, some of those are short distance from the center, some - you need to drive a little bit. It is also a gateway to moose safari (I saw one when walking in the area) and musk ox. Great views to valley from the top of nearby Mountains.

The place provides you with a lot more then you would inspect. There are several stores to get or update equipment for hiking / camping. You find Galleries with great work, there are all kind of options for food in town. If you want to go out there are multiple bars and places for a drink. Nice place, will for sure come back. P.S If you are also a photographer, bring your gear there is no place to buy photo equipment or even SD cards. The local Elkjop is missing it they dont provide any photo equipment.KaiNorway

When we arrived, the staff advised us where we could have dinner and also where we could go for a walk. The room was pretty big and had a patio where you could sit out in good weather (unfortunately, not our case). We also had a small kitchen and all the dishes/cutlery. The hotel is otherwise ok for passing by and resting. old building looks a bit better but the annex is one of those 60s charmless buildings, and not a wellkept one at that. Breakfast is ok.
