We were very happy with the size, cleanliness, and accommodations in the house — the room was very spacious and attractive, and we had some really good rest in one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in (of which there were two, though we only used one), helped by the quietness of the area and outside the room. The private bathroom was similarly well kept, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a fridge, microwave, stove, oven, cutlery, and more. In addition, the host was very thoughtful and attentive to our needs. The guesthouse is right near a number of convenient supermarkets, and it's not far from the beach and other attractive spots, like the lighthouse next to the Praia do Norte beach. We missed the famous giant waves during our stay, but that just gives us another reason to go back sometime!

The location was perfect! Tucked away in a charming neighborhood full of old world Portuguese charm. Walking distance to town but out of the way. The host were very accommodating. Met me in town at a cafe and guiding me to the property. I do not speak the local language which is always a little challenging but one of the owners did which made a world if did difference. They have a heat and air conditioner but there is also a wonderful little wood burning stove that warmed the place up perfectly. I original bool kid for just two nights but ended up staying for six. I was replenished with fire wood as well as fresh eggs from their chickens. Upon arrival there was a bottle of wine plus homemade pastries. I own a apartment in the same town and when I cannot accommodate all of my guest, I will highly recommended Grandma Villa!
