Our room had a wonderful view that aligns with the pictures advertised online. The hotel lobby is very classy and the staff were super friendly. The location was close enough to the shops and restaurants that it is only a 5 minute leisurely walk. The room was very bright and clean! It has a pool and hot tub which we used to wind down in the evening. They also took our luggage to and from the Ferry so we did not have to lug it around ourselves.

Our room was very large and clean. The beds were very comfy. The TV was great as well as the WIFI connection. We loved having the Keurig coffee maker and K-cups in the room. We also took advantage of the additional hot cider and hot chocolate K-cups available at the front desk every evening. We enjoyed the large pool and hot tub in the evening after a long day of hiking. Our room faced the pool, but we did not have a problem with loud voices after quiet hours.

We went to Mackinac Island for a long weekend getaway. The scenery was beautiful! Everyone in town was very friendly and the whole atmosphere was easy going and joyous. Getting around is easy since you walk everywhere. There is a horse-drawn taxi service and places that rent Amigos for those who have limitations. Lots of little shops, candy/fudge, restaurants, butterfly house, etc.

Mackinac Island has something for everyone.
Mackinac Island has something for everyone. Shoppers, hikers, walkers, site seers. Early or late season is best as there are much less people. Food options are endless. Island Slice for pizza, The Pink Pony for lunch, cocktails, The Gate House for dinner. Douds Market for snacks. There are so many more with great food. It's a beautiful place no matter the weather. Truly Michigan's not so hidden gem.

I have traveled to Mackinac Island four times.
I have traveled to Mackinac Island four times. Each time we have discovered something new. My favorite time to visit is in early fall. We enjoy biking around the island and hiking in the middle of the island to see all of the hidden gems (Anne's Tablet etc.) We enjoyed the haunted ghost hike also. (It was interesting and not too scary) Our favorite breakfast place was the Chuck Wagon. Our favorite dinner places were Millie's and The Pink Pony (the view is wonderful). We also enjoyed finding the Secret Garden at the Grand Hotel.

Always a beautiful, magical place where motor vehicles are not allowed, just horses and bicycles. It takes you back in time! Weather is usually perfect in the summer. Great restaurants! Historical buildings. Bring your “checkbook” as it’s pricey but well worth it!

Mackinac Island is a great place to relax or do things.
Mackinac Island is a great place to relax or do things. There is a lot of history and there are no cars! Bicycles, walking, and horse-drawn wagons are the way to get around. It was easy to get around and you will not have to lug any luggage to your hotel. It was great! There are a lot of restaurants to choose from. We went in mid-May to avoid any potential Summer crowds. The weather was crisp in the morning and warmed up in the afternoon...perfect Spring weather. We enjoyed the carriage tour of the island and saw a large arch rock formation, we took a horse-drawn taxi to the top of the mountain to tour the fort, we did some bike riding (many to choose from...conventional, electric, 3-wheeled, etc.), we went up to the Grand Hotel to walk around and look at its spledor, and visited the Butterfly Museum (behind St. Annes Church)...the museum had a great exhibit and included a large area you can walk through with all kinds of butterflies flying all over (a great place for kids & adults). There were a of lot of opportunities for great pictures everywhere.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely amazing! I didn’t realize when booking our room that it didn’t have air conditioning, it is very early in the season and usually it would not be needed. We were very lucky to get a gorgeous day in May.
They moved us immediately to another room! Every person we came in contact with during our stay went above and beyond! They handled our luggage so we didn’t have to deal with it on the island. I am glad we stayed and already are planning to stay again next year!
Breakfast was awesome! The room was very cute. Shared bathrooms were always open, clean, and stocked. Super quiet neighbors/hotel overall. We will be back! I recommend the queen with shared bathroom for younger couples. Would be nice to have your own bathroom if you're traveling with kids, which this hotel does have, just for more $$.
Absolutely lovely hotel with a fantastic location right across from one of the main ferry services to the island (use Star Line, not the other one). Free concierge service to have our bags brought from and to the hotel from the ferry was very helpful and worked smoothly. Room was very comfortable.
Staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was outstanding!! Clean room and nice view from our balcony. They also get your bags to and from your room for you, which was a nice touch after having to ask for some assistance from the previous more expensive hotel we stayed at.
We loved Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast. The street is on a dead end, so it is quiet. The front porch was a wonderful place to relax. They offered the best breakfasts. The sitting room with books and games were nice. The owners were helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
Location is the only thing about this hotel. Frankly i do not recommend this one. We stayed at the Grand Hotel once it was way better. The bell service person was very friendly and helpful. The front desk is not really.
The hotel was located directly across the street from the ferry dock, which was a huge plus. This is an older hotel which has Friendly, helpful staff, comfy bed, good shower, quiet, just generally a really nice stay.
The Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Our luggage was transported to and from the ferry which gave us time to explore the island before checking in.The hotel is very close to the stores and restaraunts.
Great hotel. Perfect location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Grandkids loved the pool. We come to Mackinac Island yearly and have decided this is our hotel of choice!!
