Mana Island Resort & Spa - Fiji, hotel in Matamanoa Island

Featuring 4 bars, 2 restaurants and 2 swimming pools, this beachfront resort offers stunning ocean or tropical garden views from your private balcony or patio.

The resort was beautiful. We stayed in one of the ocean front bures. We stayed in early March so the resort was pretty empty but I'm sure there is a lot going on during their busy season. The staff was friendly and helpful. Leitia and Nino were awesome.

Castaway Island, Fiji, hotel in Matamanoa Island

This Fiji island resort offers an award-winning private island retreat, surrounded by white sand beaches, coral reefs and crystal clear waters.

My husband and I visited Castaway Island with my sister, her husband and their two boys (aged 5 and 6), the main attraction being the Kid's Club - where my nephews enjoyed up to 8 h of planned fun throughout the day. The hotel staff are exceptional - every single person remembers your name and greets you with a genuine smile. Upon arrival and departure, a group of singers and musicians play a welcome/farewell song. During dinner at the patio, you are also treated to great live entertainment. Not too loud so you can converse but loud enough that you can enjoy the music. Breakfast and dinner options were great. The coffee bar and pizza restaurant were also great. The hotel is located in Qalito Island and there are a couple of walks you can do - one up the hill with an option to take a detour down to a secluded beach or a walk around the island during low tide. We were enchanted by the beautiful sandy beaches, the spectacular sunsets and the taste of Kokoda (traditional Fijian fare reminiscent of a coconut-ceviche). We were treated to fresh coconuts throughout our stay. In terms of activities, we went on a little 'outer reef' snorkeling adventure that saw us swimming with turtles - a memory we will treasure. We also enjoyed the on-site snorkeling which was full of life and colors. I would guess we saw at least 60 varieties of sea creatures during our 75 min swim around the hotel - including the dark blue starfish. We also had fun making tie-dye shirts with the boys under the instruction of the Kid's Club Staff. There is a nice shop onsite for everyday essentials, hats, rash guards, bathing suits, snacks, and even postcards and stamps. Many of the families we spoke to are regulars (which makes sense given close proximity to New Zealand and Australia). BONUS - they have a guest room with a bed, sitting room and shower for parties departing later than checkout. So you can still enjoy the beach and have a place to clean up prior to departing.

Funky Fish Beach & Surf Resort, hotel in Matamanoa Island

Located on Malolo Island and boasting a 656 foot private beach, Funky Fish Beach & Surf Resort features a swimming pool, games room and nightly entertainment.

Located right on the beach so it was nice to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of crashing waves. The price included breakfast, lunch and dinner, but drinks were extra.

Plantation Island Resort, hotel in Matamanoa Island

Located in front of a long white sandy beach, Plantation Island offers palm-fringed accommodations in Malolo Lailai’s blue lagoon. The resort features an outdoor pool and massage facilities.

Everything about Plantation is amazing. The best family resort - so much for the kids to do! ( I read 4 entire novels - I can't remember the last time I has enough alone time to do that!). Definitely recommend hiring bikes to get around. The kids loved all the kids club activities - they can opt in and out depending on what they are interested in. They LOVED the new jungle water park. The staff are wonderful - especially Nenisa (sp?) at the Ocean bar learning my name and favourite order from the first day hahaha. The wonderful kids club team and the staff at the Black Coral restaurant especially delivering great service. The Polynesian night show was a highlight as well as the activities for adults such as the cooking classes. Great family sized rooms. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful island in an ideal location.

Beautiful island in an ideal location. Small enough to explore and not get lost, and recommend taking a walk to the peak of the island to view the surrounding coast and other islands, particularly at sunset.

My wife and I had an amazing time on he island!

My wife and I had an amazing time on he island! From the second we arrived everyone knew our name and regularly asked if we needed anything. We loved the snorkel trips around the island and the spa! The treetop massages are a must-do! We loved just sitting outside our Bure next to our plunge pool on the beach and enjoying the ocean or watching the sunset! Most people don’t want to spend their time in their hotel room but there was no need to even leave your Bure. We could walk from our porch to the ocean and back and have a perfect day!

Great location, the neighbouring 5 islands offer nice day trips (Cast Away Island tour, village tour, snorkelling tour, etc.). The beach front villas are very remote and quiet and have the best view to the nearby islands and the private pool is also good temperature, because it is sunny all day round. Matamanoa Island also offers plenty of opportunities to discover, despite of its small size - great hiking and walking, catching sunrises and sunsets, super snorkelling. The service is excellent, tha staff is super kind and welcoming.
