Uffizi Gallery
What makes Florence the epicentre of art? All of it; but specifically the Uffizi Gallery. Its collections cover the ages, but its darlings will always be Renaissance born. You won’t find a better Art History 101 refresher. Hours wilt away inside this U-shaped mansion. The Birth of Venus tops many a best-of list. Better book tickets in advance – the masterworks cause quite a queue.

Get tickets for 8:15 AM, go with nothing but your camera and don't check your coat. Head directly to the Botticellis, and then to the Da Vinci's, Raphaels and the Michelangelo to enjoy them without the crowd, and then double back for the Gothic paintings. Do NOT make the mistake of pausing to view sculptures on the entrance level. Do NOT get distracted by the Gothic masters. Speed walk to the Botticellis and then the Ninja Turtles or you'll be viewing them across crowds jostling for selfies.

Packed with stunning art work including “Spring” and “The birth of Venus” by Botticelli. We looked at most of the works and spent 3 1/2 hours there. The queues were long, I’d advise prebooking your tickets.

1. DEFINITELY get "skip the line" tickets. 2. Don't forget that you still have to wait in line to exchange the "skip the line" tickets for the admission tickets. 3. Don't forget you then have to wait in line with all the other "skip the line" ticket holders to actually get in. Plan accordingly and enjoy the FABULOUS art!

My second time going: make the reservation, folks!! You want to get in early and take your time. I wish I knew more about the ceilings and walls of the actual building. I must, must, must see for anyone slightly interested in art. I can't wait to return again!

Book tickets in advance, or you will end up waiting on line for an hour or more. Also, do some research before coming here. It's a big museum and you can get overwhelmed if you spend a long time looking at everything. Instead, you want to make sure you see the highlights: Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Laocoon statue, Titian's Medussa, the Da Vinci section, and a few other major, major works of art that you know you'd feel bad if you missed. To me, the remainder of the works are a bit of a bonus--I stopped to look at the ones that especially called to me (there were a lot; I was here for 4 hours), but decided I didn't have to feel guilty about walking past if others didn't pique my interest.
Oh, and please note that David is NOT in this gallery. David is at the Academia down the street. I saw some people make that mistake.

It's huge.
It's huge. Try not to spend too much time at the ancient statues that line both sides of the gallery. They are worth it, but you will be too tired to enjoy the masterpieces of old masters when you eventually reach them.

The hotel is located in the main area of Florence. I could walk to all places I wanted to visit including the Uffizi Gallery. Staff is very kind and friendly. They kindly kept my luggage after check-out.
Excellent location, a short walking distance to Uffizi Gallery and Academia. The room was clean with a Comfortable bed. I’m a foodie so this location offered many selections. Jenny was nice and made reservations for us, The Property offered a nice selection of breakfast treats and great service. Thank you, Jenny. I love Florence, I'll be back!
Great location. A few steps away from the Piazza Repubblica, the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and many other tourist attractions. The place was clean and the bed comfortable. Francesco was kind enough to offer complimentary breakfast on my birthday at the Pazchowski. When we arrived outside the building, the place was a little hard to find because there was no sign outside. You have to take one flight of stairs before you can take the elevator. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!
Spacious area that provided a private space for each family member. Fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils, pots, and pans needed. Very clean. All shower amenities provided. Right in the center of the city surrounded by restaurants and shops, a 5 minute walk from the duomo, a 5 minute walk from Firenze S. M., an 8 minute walk from the Uffizi Gallery. A beautiful park is down the block. And the view!! Loved opening the windows every morning. Great place!! Would honesty go back again. :))
The apartment is 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio and has a lovely view of the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. Hot water was always available and the internet worked perfectly. A bus runs from the station and stops close to the apartment, which is very convenient. All the sights are within walking distance and there is a supermarket and a great coffee shop nearby. During the night, the heating in the apartment was automatically switched on.
Easy check in. Location is just a stone’s throw away from major attractions like the Uffizi Gallery. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are sufficient. They even have a separate washing bowl in the toilet. Hosts regularly checks on their guests to see if there are any issues.
This is the most beautiful apartment in which we've ever stayed. It is extremely spacious and has the most incredible view - several windows look directly out at the Ponte Vecchio and at the Uffizi Gallery right across the Arno. The apartment is modern, spacious, and secure. This is the place to book!
The grounds are beautiful and romantic, and probably better later than March when the plants and flowers are in bloom. There is a lovely grove of olive tree along with a "Villa" style garden and walkways. The best part is the free shuttle to the edge of the Old City and Uffizi Gallery. The drop of point is about a 10 minute to the gallery and the Statues of David, Hercules and the Bronze of Cosimo Medici.
