Hotel Schachner is located in the town of Maria Taferl, close to the basilica. It offers views of the Alps and the Danube River. First of all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, we first had a room in the "Schachner in the park" and then moved into the main building which has a direct access to the spa and the restaurant and bar. The view was absolutely exceptional, with a broad horizon and the autumn colors ....The food was absolutely delightful. The spa with the infinity pool and again the wonderful view was great, as are the possibilities for walks and hiking. We definitely will go back! thank you

Located in Mautern on the southern bank of the Danube, only 2 km from Krems, the Nikolaihof offers very spacious, classically equipped rooms with panoramic views over the Wachau Valley. The location was ideal for our activity, cycling the River Danube between Passau and Vienna stopping at small hotels en route. We hadn’t realised the hotel owner had embraced an ethos around bio sustainability, local produce and services but were pleased to have the experience of our stay. The buffet breakfast was one of the best on our trip and consisted very good quality produce. The hotel owner recommended a local restaurant, making no secret of the fact it was part of the vineyard operation owned and run by her family and it too was a truly excellent experience. The owner and staff were a delight to deal with.

Very nice cozy hotel, kind owner, excelent breakfast and very nice view of the Danube river. Confortable spacious rooms, parking available. I highly recomend this hotel. A few minutes form Durnstein, small beautiful town.
