Located in the centre of Sachseln, 200 metres from Lake Sarnen and the train station, the family-run Gasthaus Engel features a Gault Millau-awarded restaurant serving Swiss and international cuisine. This was a wonderful place. I recommend it highly. Be sure to have dinner, it was wonderful.

Situated right in front of the Melchsee-Frutt Cable Car, Gasthaus Waldhaus is a traditional guesthouse that enjoys a central position in Melchtal. The place is close to the cable car starting point. This building is the last building of the mountain range I guess. Staffs were good and friendly. Toilets were clean and perfectly maintained.

Overlooking Lake Sarnen, Seehotel Wilerbad is idyllically located between mountains and the lake, a 20-minute drive from Lucerne. breathtakingly, beautiful location along the lake, amazing, heated, saltwater, pool, and spa, the best facilities I’ve ever experienced also with a Great gym and lovely breakfast with lake view. The staff was incredibly kind and generous, this is the best Swissotel. I’ve stayed at by far, one of the best memories of my life.
