A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. WOW! My husband and I spent a bank holiday weekend at The Ravenstone with our dog, and it was truly one of the most delightful hotel experiences I've ever had. The property is so charming, and the rooms were very large and comfortable. The food was incredible and the bar had so many options. But more than anything, the staff was simply superb -- from Joe the bartender to the manager who carries around sausages for the dogs to the front desk staff, everyone went above and beyond the entire weekend. My husband and I are not typically the kind of people who spend a lot of time at hotels when we travel, but The Ravenstone was so lovely (and the food was so delicious) that we really didn't have any reason to go into Keswick during our stay. You can also walk to all of the good hiking areas, as well as Lake Bassthelwaite. Last but not least, the hotel is SO dog-friendly! They even have complimentary dog beds and bowls available and dogs are welcome everywhere at the property; however, it never felt like there were too many dogs or that we were staying in a kennel -- it was simply an above-and-beyond hotel experience and the dogs were icing on the cake.

Set in 2 acres of tranquil wooded gardens. The charming rooms have TVs and tea and coffee facilities, and many have breathtaking views of the valley and fells. The location is great, I loved the room and the breakfasts (expensive but worth it). We also had a great time in the lounge and the staff was super helpful.

Situated on the beautiful lower slopes of Skiddaw, Lyzzick Hall Hotel offers impressive mountain views and an on-site restaurant with extensive wine cellar. We loved the location. nice and quiet, beautiful views, relaxed atmosphere, very close to town.

Located in the heart of Keswick, the refurbished Skiddaw Hotel offers good food, and spacious rooms with tea/coffee making facilities. Dinner was excellent. Location was very good. Totally, this hotel is good.

Set in 5 acres of woodland gardens, The Mary Mount Hotel is set on the shores of Derwentwater. With countryside views, rooms are en suite. There is also a restaurant and free WiFi throughout. The location was perfect, food excellent, staff efficient and polite. We stayed in the lodge which was amazing. We would most certainly stay there again. Highly recommend.

The 18th-century Royal Oak at Keswick is located in the market town of Keswick, just 2 miles from Derwentwater. Absolutely fabulous staff , beautiful food hotel Is in an excellent location top of the main street .
