The Crown Inn Pooley Bridge has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Pooley Bridge. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The staff were so welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The Crown Inn, is well located and is very charming. An excellent combination of traditional with a modern twist. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast. We stayed in room 17 which was on the top floor and had beautiful views of the lake. All in all, our stay was everything we could have wished for and we will definitely be back.

It was a good sized room, clean, and in a great location (close to everything). Staff was friendly and the room had everything I needed for a short stay.

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs. Both the hotel and the staff where soo warm and inviting. Like a home from home

Boasting an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and modern rooms, the 4-star luxury North Lakes Hotel and Spa, is located just off the M6 motorway. The hotel was lovely & the staff were friendly & efficient. The food for both dinner & breakfast was lovely.

Set in Penrith, 21 km from Askham Hall, The Globe Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. This 3-star hotel features free WiFi and a bar. Evening meal & breakfast really good. Room a little dated but bathroom/shower very good. Traditional bar/pub excellent, I wish I lived a lot nearer.

Awarded a 3-star rating by VisitEngland, this independently-run hotel in the idyllic village of Edenhall is only 3 miles from Penrith and junction 40 of the M6. Very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms.

The Roundthorn Country House and luxury self-catering Mews Apartments are set in landscaped gardens, with panoramic views of the Eden Valley and Lakeland Fells. First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.
