Just off the M8 motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Best Western The Hilcroft Hotel West Lothian offers free parking, modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, and an on-site bar and restaurant. This was our first stop after flying over from Canada, so it was a great spot to recover from the jetlag. The restaurant was good and the location was convenient for going to check out the town and to get to the bus stop.

In beautiful, peaceful grounds, between Edinburgh and Glasgow, this 4-star hotel is rich in historic charm, with a restaurant, a bar and great leisure facilities, including an 18-metre swimming pool. Large comfortable room - tasty food and lovely swimming pool. Pretty grounds to walk our dog.

The Mercure Livingston is a 15-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport and 2 miles from junction 3 of the M8 motorway. It has a brasserie, a restaurant, and free parking. the cleanliness, the location of the hotel near the city center, the attitude of the staff who were very kind ,free wireless

In the centre of Livingston, Livingston Lodge Hotel has hotel rooms with a private shower room and free WiFi access. It also has free parking. Good location if one wants to visit Edinburgh and Glasgow, and wants to have an affordable accommodation. The train station is just 10 min walking distance and it takes additional 20 min by train to reach the city. The public pub serves good pub food and there is a grocery shop and lovely sandwich/pastry shop nearby (you have to grab their bacon roll for breakfast).

Court Residence Aparthotel offers suites in Linlithgow's historic town centre. The property is only a 15-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport. Huge room, well appointed. We were pleasantly surprised as the property was directly across from the Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Had a great meal out at a nearby restaurant.
