Situated in Farafenni, Star Lodge features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. This guest house provides a terrace. The guest house features a flat-screen TV. It was the first town we stayed in The Gambia, while we were traveling with cars. The hosts were super nice and very very helpful. Staying there was really refreshing! If you want to understand how nice and welcoming Gambian people are, you should definitely book this place.

Offering a restaurant, AbCa's Creek Lodge is located in the inlands about 85 km from the coast. The accommodation will provide you with a balcony. Private bathroom also comes with a shower. We absolutely loved our stay at AbCa's Creek Lodge! The lodge is charming with a variety of different seating areas along the creek. Ansu the guide gave us a great hiking tour, as well as a lovely boat tour through the mangroves, where we saw a variety of birds. Do note that the creek tide ebbs and flows - the creek looks nearly empty in the late afternoon compared to the morning, so time your water activities accordingly. We later went kayaking through the mangroves which was beautiful though we opted to turn around instead of going all the way to the village which meant fighting the current and ebbing tide - a bit of a physical feat but well worth the adventure! The staff was very accommodating, including storing our luggage late and organizing a driver to and from the Lodge (who also kindly stopped at the artisanal market en route). Our wooden stilt room had both a fan and A/C and was quite comfortable (though note the bathroom is private but open to the air, so beware some mosquitoes and spiders). Food options were plentiful and delicious. Absolutely loved relaxing outside watching dozens of monkeys! Highly recommend, this was our favorite part of our visit in The Gambia.

Absolutely immersive in wild life, way away from the common, prices surprisingly reasonable considering the distance from Dakar. I doubted very much if it was worth traveling that far, arriving from Saly and Dakar, but after being there, my joy compensated it all

With sea views, Feel Free Lodge is situated in Jinack Island and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden and sun terrace. Feel Free Lodge is an exceptional place, a corner of paradise. From the moment you arrive. The staff are exceptional and cannot do enough for you, always with a smile. The main man Shariff is absolutely fantastic and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect.

Offering sea views, Jinack Lodge in Jinack Island offers accommodation, a garden, a terrace and a bar. There is a bowling alley on site and guests can enjoy the on-site snack bar. Directly on the kilometer long beach. Perfect bathing conditions (slightly sloping, no currents, no rocks, no dangerous fish/jellyfish, etc.). Free sunbeds. Super nice staff. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner (also vegetarian if desired). The huts are large and comfortable including large mosquito nets. All huts are solar powered. ps. They have German Beer and Wine from South Africa :)

Situated in Missira, 6.6 km from Fathala Wildlife Reserve, Les Fromagers features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The hotel is located in a beautiful village next to a lake and the oldest tree in this region (it's very impressive to see). We stayed at les Fromagers because we wanted to visit the Fathala Wild life reserve that is close by. On our arrival we found out that there are so many other activities to do like going fishing, watching crocodiles, visiting the islands etc. The owner of the place are very friendly and helpful. We experienced their great hospitality and felt very comfortable during our stay. I can recommend you also to try out their restaurant, since you get very tasty seafood there, freshly caught by the local fisherman. We will definitely visit again, when we are in Senegal.

Boasting pool views, B & B Mariamacounda offers accommodation with pool with a view, a garden and a bar, around 23 km from Fathala Wildlife Reserve. We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!
