Overlooking an extensive park with antique statues, Relais et Châteaux Hotel Villa Franceschi is a 16th-century villa standing on the River Brenta, in Mira Porte. The Hotel and the grounds are beautiful. The staff were exceptional, and went above and beyond for us at every opportunity.

Hotel Casa a Colori Venezia is a renovated 16th-century convent a 10-minute walk from Dolo city centre. It offers free private parking and a restaurant specialising in Veneto cuisine. The property is absolutely beautiful. The room is basic and clean and it’s great value for the money. The best part is the property itself and the amazing staff there. The young lady at the reception was so nice and helpful, and answered everything with a smile. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Delicious pastries but no eggs. Not complaining just noting. The only down side is that their shower is extremely small. Parking is ample and right in front of the rooms entrance. We drove to the nearest train station (Polo-10 minutes away), parked the car there for free, and took a 30-minute train ride to the heart of Venice. The location is therefore great. If you decide to do the same, just note the closing hours of the Polo station. It closes around 11:30 pm I think and we missed the last train out of Venice to Polo, which resulted in an expensive taxi ride, but that was our fault for not researching well. Long review short: would definitely recommend the property to anyone looking for affordable accommodation outside of Venice with easy access to the city.

Villa Gasparini is housed in an 18th-century Venetian villa along the Naviglio Brenta River in Dolo. We arrived when the reception was closed, but the owner kindly received us and did our check in even earlier. He was very kind and borrowed us an umbrella for the rain. All the staff was very kind too. It's 40-50 min away from Venice (tourist part), but there is a bus literally 1 min walking from the door or even less, and it passes each 10 minutes.
