Mario and his wife are the most friendly and helpful hosts! We absolutely loved our stay at their place and the walking tours of the island that Mario gave us each day. The meals they cooked us were so delicious that I had to ask for the soup recipe when we left. They happily answered all of our questions about the island and their culture. We even got to see Mario dance in the Fiesta de Santiago, which was incredible!

Taquile Familia Celso ligger 4 kvarter från det stora torget i Quinuapata. Varje morgon serveras en kostnadsfri frukost. Rummen har delat badrum. Taquile Familia Celso har en egen restaurang. I warmly recommend this little island to everyone! We stayed with the Celso family and had one of the best experiences! The family is really nice, smily and willing to give you the best accomodation they've could. We had dinner with them - delicious and big, breakfast - really great and full filling. But more than that, we experienced a native person life by first hand. Celso asked some of the textile families to come visit in the following morning, so we had 1 to 1 explanation and observed by ourselves how textiles has been produced on the island. Oh and btw, if you're worry you might not have hot water or at all water - it's a myth.

Edwin was super helpful and caring so I could arrive the accomodation without any problem. Views were astonishing and the peace was out of this world. Food was nice too. They gave me a better room than the one I booked because they had it free for that night.

Richar‘s wife(Lucrecia) is the best. She always smile and she cooks the best food. During my stay, I also get to dress up in local dress and go to the community dancing party, it was so fun! About the room-you will have the most beautiful view, from the window. Don’t miss everyday morning sunrise. (You can literally watching sunrise in bed) And in the night, you can see the stars and Milky Way with naked eyes. the bed is super comfy, I had the best sleep during my trip in Peru. And they also have toilet can flash, even has hot showers! I didn’t expect there will be hot showers. That’s rare in this island. As a female solo traveler, I feel 100% safe here, I don’t even lock my door, not at all. That’s how I feel about the stay.

Inca lodge - Antantani ligger 37 km från hamnen Puno på ön Amantani. Här finns en restaurang och en terrass. Alla rum har balkong. Hotellet serverar en amerikansk frukost. The accommodation is located in the community on the opposite side respect where the boat from Puno arrives. That's permitted to be the only tourist in this side of the island during our stay. You have to consider 20 soles per person to reach the accommodation from the pier with a motorbike. Otherwise you need at least 1 hour and 30 minute of walk. The host family is amazing, Justa prepared delicious meals and joined us for a while for the walking up to pacha mama on the top of the island. Amantanì is magic, it is a rural island surrounded by the lake. Stunning scenario where to relax and take great pictures. The night sky from the house is unforgettable.

Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing.
